If anyone wants a logo done so you can spray it on the wall, let me know what you want. If you can supply me with a picture I can have it done by the next day. The formats for them are prefect squares @ 512px, 256px, 128px, 64px, 32px on all sides. I can even make them with an invisible background in case you just want your name. Just let me know what you want.

I'm playing L4D quite a bit lately too on Steam, not Xbox. Track me down, let's kill some zombies. I usually prefer campaigns, but I'm down for Survival mode sometimes too. Like here in the DC server, I am vasago on Steam.

I am hoping to get some play time in this weekend, I will add you (vasago and echo) and see if we can hook up. Fodder and I are always crossing paths, but so far steam network glitches have wrecked it. We haven't been able to play a whole game yet I think..

What exactly do you mean? Steam is basically a store front for games and a community for hooking up to play certain games or servers. You can keep a buddy list and invite people into a particular game you're playing.

AFAIK, the P2P aspect is simply for legitimately distributing download bandwidth and load like Blizzard does for World of Warcraft. There's nothing illegal or malicious about it. Every now and then it just means that a download might be slow, but that's about it.

Steam's been great, and a ton of data and studies say it's been a massive boon for the gaming industry. One big drawback, however, is that games purchased through Steam are wrapped in DRM that require Steam's servers to be running to authenticate each time you want to play. The upside, however, is that you're allowed to install games on as many computers as you want without ever being bothered.

Personally I would rather see a more iTunes-like balance, where you don't need to authenticate against Steam's servers *every* time you want to play, but you are limited to a much more realistic computer install count of, say, five computers. Then you can de-register and re-register computers as you swap out old machines for new ones.

Anyway, Steam's great, although Demonslayer may have some choice words from the other side of the fence.

I haven't been on Steam since my Half Life 2 days. Updating it now so I can see L4D as it looked awesome during it's development and release last year. If I can try it today for free, I'm gunna give it a shot.

Plus, I just saw an ad that says L4D is on sale on Steam through May 4 for $24. Can't beta that price.

Well actually I kinda did, cuz I picked it up on sale around Valentine's Day for $20, but still. This has become one of those games where I actually feel kinda bad for buying it for so cheap; like the developers deserved more of my money. Seriously.

I didn't read the article, so I thought Saturday meant the calendar day, not just the night. My free trial disappeared
