Suggestion on First Blood to LW players

Hey all , I was just wondering what everyone's opinion on the LW players not using a deemer as soon as wave 1 starts. It seems a little disheartening to spawn in looking for the closest critter to frag, then BOOM!....too late, all in all it's not fair. However, it is highly obvious that it happens often. If you spawn with a deemer you have to at least be lvl 55, I'm not sure if you get extra exp besides the adren, but if we could try not to do that it would be a courtesy to our lower level friends, more like even playing field for all.

I've got to agree with you on that Slayer. Over the course of several maps the other day several deemers went off right as the countdown finished for game start.

I agree as well, LW don't really need to first blood adren either compared to medics or LA, it'd just be courteous to refrain from the nuke that early.

I agree completely. I try not to use the deemer till the higher waves but there are times when you see a HUGE group of monsters and just can't help yourself...

On second thought how about you just give me your deemer when we spawn in and we'll call it even?

I meant on like wave 3-5..I have never used the deemer on the first couple waves..very rarely on 3-5 anyway.

i often just shoot my nuke first off on lower waves . dunno why just do .. i also use ultima alot .. ill be more curtious and not nuke right off .but i realy,
dont see what the diffrence is from doing that or shock comboing thoe .. either or the first kill is gonna happen regardless how its done.
i understand the point.but ,
creatures dont spawn together in masses .they end up like that from roaming, seeking players.. so if nukes must be used .its better for the lower players ,if the higher levels choose to use them right off <if they must that is>. other then nukeing the whole mass near the middle -end of the wave .in my opinion., <Isnt thier a way to make the nuke not spawn untill like wave 5 ? that would kinda even things abit i guess.

Interesting thought...There have been several times I go after a monster for first blood but I hear a deemer explosion and it says "So n so drew first blood"
Doesn't matter too much but good point.

The nuke firing at the very beginning of a map (wave 1) is a wimpy way to near blindly fire a weapon that will result in a quick death of at least one monster within a large area. In other words, it's a completely skill-less way to get first blood (an award that's more related to luck than skill anyway).

Should it be coded for? I don't think so.

Is it poor etiquette and lame? I do think so.

Loaded Weapons players are always more likely to get First Blood, because they spawn with weapons. LW3 players have redeemers, and so are perhaps even more likely to get it - although if you can see the monster an instant hit weapon may get it faster.

Surely that is just a benefit of buying LW3? If someone really wants to waste a redeemer on possibly getting the first monster, rather than definitely taking out a few monsters for points later, isn't that their choice?

Or is the next argument going to be that LW players shouldn't use weapons they spawn with to get first blood, but should wait until they have picked up a weapon before they shoot it - just to be fair?

If they want to use redeemers, let them. But if the general consensus is that it is bad, then you have to remove the first blood award.

Well, I think the addition of the First Blood award was cool when it was first added to the game, but in doing so, it has made it into a competition, rather than a luck of the draw thing. It's mostly luck to find the first bug to splatter, but it can be done with a shield as much as it can with a deemer. The view can be seen in several ways, already discussed. I see the validity on both views. I bought the levels of LW (maxed for me) so I can have these weapons at my disposal. It was the path I chose, I should be able to use them at my disposal as my class permits. Do I deemer a bunny? No. unless its the last critter to kill and its spawned in one of them awquard places where nothing else gets it. I would rather flak everything unless I get a good vorpal weapon. I think its just a bit lame, as Bot says, to try and get it with a deemer right at first....but hey, it can be done on any wave, not just the first one. So if we just stop making it a competition, and this is just a thought everyone has the keep in mind to work, then I think this wouldnt be an issue anymore.
