Dom, I'm gonna be honest with ya. I was an AMD fan for many years until AMD screwed up on their first offering of the quad core processor. Now AMD is so far behing Intel in terms of processor speeds, it's unbelievable. I agree with you on the Radeon video cards even tho I'm currently running Nvidia.
Check out Dell's XPS 8500 desktops. That is what I'm gonna use for the UT3 server with this config.
Dell XPS 8500
3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3770 processor 3.40 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.90 GHz quad core processor
12GB DDR3 SDRAM AT 1600MHZ-2x2GB + 2x4GB
Dell KB213 Wired Multimedia Keyboard, US-English
AMD Radeon HD 7570 1GB GDDR5
2TB SATA Hard Drive 7200 RPM + 32GB SSD SRT enhancement
XPS 8500, Black Chassis w/19:1 media card reader
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, English, No Media
Dell USB 6-Button Laser Mouse
Integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet
Adobe Acrobat Reader
16X DVD+/-RW
Integrated 7.1 with WAVE MAXXAudio 4
Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0+LE
US Power Cord
McAfee 11, 15 Month
Dell Resource DVD with Application Backup
Microsoft Office Starter: reduced-functionality Word and Excel w/ ads. No PowerPoint or Outlook
1 Year Limited Warranty
Software, DataSafe Online 2.0 2GB
Trusted ID,IDSafe, 12 Month Subscription, Digital Delivery
Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24"W Monitor, 24.0 Inch VIS, Widescreen, VGA/ DVI/ DP
3YR Limited Warranty Monitor, Advanced Exchange
Total cost $975.00 plus tax for a total of $1,075.00 with free shipping.
I sent the monitor back for for a credit of $394.00, leaving the cost of the server pc at roughly $650.00 or so.
The above Intel quad core setup will beat the britches off of the Cyberpower AMD 8 core processor setup from wallyworld previously mentioned and runs just a shade slower than my 990X in my gaming pc.
Take a look at the side-by-side comparison at http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/373/AMD_FX-Series_FX-8150_vs_Intel_Core_i7_i7-3770.html

ok here's the list.
Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid-Tower Gaming Case
AMD FX-6100 MB bundle
8 Gigs (2x4GB) DDR3 Mem
1TB HDD
AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 PCI Express Graphics Card
24x DL superMulti DVD
WIN7 64
comes with a gaming KB and mouse
wally wanted $100 for water cooling, I just may add 1 or 2 more fans from other source since they had only 1 fan add-on option.
this is the Cyberpowerpc "build your own" on Wally's site.
As it stands it's $685.00 after my 10% plus extra 10% for working on Thanksgiving makes 20% off = $548
and the wife thought I was crazy! for spendsing that much but then I pointed out that this one that I'm on was about the same amount 10 yrs ago so just looked at me...LOL she can't complain I'm buying her a 17.3 inch laptop! along with a 32" flat screen for in the bedroom!
getting a N600 linksys router too see if that helps with the wireless connection.
I'll check and see what PS is in the case and if it's like normal ie just big enough to run system or a cheap off brand I'll get a good PS to put in it, and maybe at tax time weasel a 2nd vid card to do crossfire.
The new Pantec Burst I just got off E-bay don't like to charge off the usb on the comp for some reason but charges on the wall no probs well I'm not going without a decent phone again I hated that old slide the wife came up with when the other got messed up.

Hey Demon what do you think of this cooler?
Antec Kuhler H20 620 Liquid Cooling System for Intel and AMD
it has the same price point on Fry's web site as the Corsair H60
then there's this 1 for $99
Antec Liquid CPU Kuhler 920 Intel/AMD Universal

Since the FX-6100 is a 6 core processor, either one would work well. The 620 is similar to what I have now and it does a very good job in keeping my processor cool. However, remember that I also have an active venting system which is designed for air flow as welll. The 920 is just a bigger version and would do well in a case that does not have a lot of airflow.
So, I would say that you need to look at the case you want and make that decision based on the case, not the $30.00 or so difference in price.

well did some research before choosing the HAF912 case, it seemed to drop the temp a decent amount I think in just adding 2 more fans to it in the review I read. It has a 120mm fan at top back and space for 2 more in top besides else where so I'll see what happens after I get it and get setup then check out things ......wife just looked at me when I said I woild need more cooling for it
