Oh, and my wife's vid card refused to work this morning. Got the dreaded POST code errors today. Contacted the seller...hope I get a replacement that works soon. Now we are down to just my ailing machine.

Try 12 inches long, inch n half thick, about 3 pounds weight wise. Best way to describe is to think of a 2 x 4 x 12" of heavy oak.

Well, the one that messed up my system I had in a box in reserve. I kept it as the replacement didnt fix my BSOD issues. So I figured that my fix worked, but was too late. What my wife had in her system was my original ASUS 9800 pro (ATI) 256. The fans burned out with no way of replacing them. So I bought a used ATI 9800 Pro and it was DOA. Got refund on that one, then I got another one from SIB-USA off ebay. Well that one had dirty artifacts on the screen, so I sent that one back for replacement. In the interim, I put that fixed 7600 GS (NVIDIA) in her machine and it worked great. So when the replacement 9800 Pro came, I just put it on the shelf as a backup. Well, the overheating of the 7600 caught up with us and started blowing capacitors. So I put that new spare in, and the drivers wont recognize the card. SO..it worked ok...but not optimally. The next morning. got the dreaded beeps of doom. So, now she is without a vid card and I'm waiting on an answer from SIB-USA who doesn't have a single thing on ebay right now. Had to contact them thru their website.

Ya, DOM, if you or anyone else has a good AGP card, we would be greatly appreciative. These no-name chinese referb POSes are not working for us.

My wife actually let me work on it today................had to take apart the cpu water block and change the waterblock holddown from the LGA775 to the LGA 1366. Swiftech didn't provide instructions--had to figure it out on my own. All that's left is the power hookups.

Will have to re-enact the scene from Frankenstein just before you flip the switch.

just remember its slot A into tab D and fold at line ZXY and staple at point C and then sell with 2 rolls of duct tape.

I give up--got a C1 error (memory) and have tried all sorts of DDR3 RAM. I've never had such a disgusting run of bad luck in all the years I've been building high end pc's.

Seriously, my wife told me in no uncertain terms to sell all of the parts and buy a good one (said I was getting awful nasty)--I looked at her and asked if she was a "little touched in the head" as we could not afford to buy a new gaming pc.

She then asked me how much a new pre-built gaming pc would run. I told her around $5k to $6k at a minimum, gave her a list of the components I wanted on the pc, handed her the laptop, and told her "good luck".

She came back to me in 45 minutes and asked if I would allow these video cards (I specified the new 6870s for x-fire and she came back with the 5770s). I said ok. She came back in a few minutes later and said "done". I said "how much?"

She told me and I almost fell out of my chair, she had gotten in contact with Alienware!!!!!!!!!! And they made her a special deal (leave it to her) on a new Aurora desktop.

OK OK don't keep us guessing! how much??

my wife still refuses to let me look at parts for ME but has no probs with something for the girl.. and my current rig will work just fine for a 8 yr old!

Once I get it, I will up the RAM to 12GB, install more hard drives and another optical drive, add the SB X-Fi Titanium sound card, and replace the OS with Win 7 ultimate since I have all of those items.
