Apparenlty the rep I talked to was wrong. They are holding all checks, not just the first 4...so 5 weeks and counting on this fiasco. Luckily, mom is helping us out. So that will help us get food and pay some bills so we dont loose our heat or or my car.

This week is the last I should be waiting on the job. This week the client (General Dynamics/Gulfstream) has 5 days to approve me for the position. So I am hoping to hear by Monday at the latest.

This has been almost 2 months in the works. I have Benefits Briefing and Orientation to attend over the phone in the next week or so. This is such a relief to us. I'm excited to work again. Hope that I can now get my wife's PC fixed and mine as well and start digging ourselves out of the very deep hole we are in.

That is the best news ever................congrats my brother. Now that you and momma have been thru the wringer for the past two years, you will find that you will bend but never break with what the world's tosses at you.

now just hope I find one soon! job search sucks! in a small town framing /ranching type of area and I don't have a 2nd vehicle to get to someplace With more jobs

How did the first day go, Flak?

Well, ok. Was basically the 5th wheel at the parts house, imaging and fix-it house called SIMBAY, hanging with Walley, the guy who does the imaging and fixing (he's a riot). Was there day 2 as well as my manager was/is out with the flu. On Wednesday, finally got assigned to a tech in the main IT section of Building A. Will do that for the rest of the week. Next week, will do a bit more hands on as I learn their protocols and procedures. The guy I am with and I already earned a free lunch from a platform. They were never taught how to use Adobe Acrobat Pro and was only using it to convert images to PDF. So they were using their scanners to scan individual images of multi page documents from the scanning software and converting them into PDFs the long way. So we showed them how to do it just out of Adobe and they were very appreciative. Saved that platform many hours of work each week.

Getting OT my first week. Still don't have a regular security badge yet as I haven't gone thru security training yet. That will be this morning at 8. As of now, I have a temp "visitor" badge that requires escort. Hope I get that badge today.

I love it. My feet don't. They ache so bad at the end of the day. This morning they still ache, even though they didn't ache at the end of yesterday as much as they did the prior 2 days. (breaking in new shoes that don't have much cush too them)

I havn't been able to get much sleep. Always waking up before the alarm. I'm in bed by 10 so to give me a chance to get 8 hrs of sleep, but I'm up before the alarm every day. Today was 4:30. But at least it's giving me time to do some stuff on the computer in the morning where if I got up at 6, I wouldn't be able to.

sounds like you like it. hope it all go's fine for you and lasts it sucks doing the job search thing and because of getting aid I have a "class" on how to do job search for the next few weeks
