Check out
Super junky Monkey - All girl Japanese rock/punk , fantastic musicians
Remy Zero - I think they do the theme for smallville but I did their 1st record, check em out, sorta U2'ish, I really like Cinjin's vocals.
Dude, Remy Zero is very very cool, diggin it! Couldn't find any samples of Super Junky Monkey tho... gotta URL?
Anyway, I just took a listen at one of my longtime favorites' new CD. VNV Nation's "Judgement". WHOA, I had forgotten how much I loved this group! The new album is fantastic! They are dark electronica, almost goth, very very talented couple of guys. Anyway, give 'em a listen!
cheers.

Due to the utter lack of quality new hard rock being released in recent years (IMO), I have been on a quest to find something good out there. Almost gave up hope, until now.
Found a new-ish band called Earl Greyhound. Their first full-length album came out about a year and a half ago. They were touring with Chris Cornell, so maybe someone here has seen them live.
They are good 'ol fashioned rock and roll in the same spirit as Zepellin, Bad Company, and many others. Loud guitars, heavy drums, and great vocals make them a pleasure to listen to. They give me hope that great new rock music is not dead.
You can listen to their tunes on their website:
http://earlgreyhound.com/
Give them a listen and see what you think.

Nice find! And complete songs on the site! (Don't let the player progress bar fool you) Awesome...
Very much the classic rock and roll feel, with a little splash of new school here and there. Diggin it!
cheers.

A couple of months ago I was flipping through some of my songs in itunes that I've rarely listened to. One artist I came upon was Rock Kills Kid. Their song, Hideaway, was a free download that I snagged a couple of years of ago but never really gave it a listen. I liked what I heard so I picked up a copy off of amazon and now I've wondered where they've been all my life! To me they sound a bit like The Killers. They only have one CD out, Are You Nervous?, which has some great tracks like Paralyzed, Midnight, and Hope Song. Definitely one of my favorite CD's of all time.

Yup - I like a few of their songs as well - my son downloaded them and pointed them out because he knew I'd like them.
I'm on a nostalgia kick so I was digging up some Uriah Heep, Sweet, King Crimson... I guess it's a proggy kick

Wow! They do rock! I hear the Killers and vocally almost a hint of Coldplay and/or Robert Smith...(yeah I'll let you guys figure that one out... ) Tho I think they're lightyears ahead of The Killers in overall sound. They have a lot more emotion in their music...the Killers feel a bit static to me.
Will go on the list! Which seems to be getting longer every day, thanks Echo... I'm gonna have to go on a spree!
For those of you who still like buying the hardcopy version of your musics, here are a couple great sites for you:
http://www.secondspin.com
(online used cd/dvd/game store, free shipping specials every other week or so)
http://www.justthedisc.com
(all CDs $2.99 + $2 s/h, DVDs $3.99, all used, no cases or anything but a legit business)
Anyway, keep the musics coming! My recent find is Calexico. Very chill, accoustic-indie-ecclectic sounding, some folk/country/border influence, very very cool stuff.

Give em a listen!
cheers.

Oh, and one more for the list!

These guys are all over the map. They have an excellent groove tho, somewhat retro, occasionally dark and electronic, quite eclectic-indie sounding. Good sauce!

Sooo, any of ya'll have last.fm profiles? If so, post em up! Make for easier sharing of music discoveries!
If you dont have a profile, I highly recommend it! Go to http://www.last.fm to get your account. It's a completely free net-radio station that you customize and you can save tracks to a personalized playlist allowing you to go back to the songs you enjoyed (this is what bumps it above Pandora.com, imho).
Anyway, I am titaniumwombat.
(I know, you're thinkin "Wow, he's really branching out! What a clever fellow!")
Anyway, yeah, on with the show!
cheers.

Cool Wombat, I never really thought about posting Last.FM... it's such a neat website. I'm under Pyramidion heh, I'll be sure to add anyone else who's got one! I like it because it keeps track of everything you've listened to and puts it in charts to show you what song or band you like the most. It's come in quite handy when looking for new bands.
