Haven't decided has yet as to the makeup of the raid. Right now the planned layout is:
Disk 1 = OS disk
Disk 2 = Games
Disk 3 = 3 250 GB partitions for storage of letters/spreadsheets, pics, and misc
Disk 4 = mirror 2
Disk 5 = mirror 3
Gonna be running Win 7 ultimate 64 and yes, TRIM if necessary. XP loaded right up without any mess or fuss.

Strike 2, and you're out. Yep, I changed the rules in the middle of the game.
The 780i boards are out-Evga and Asus 780i boards crapped out on me and by default, so are the 790i boards.
Due to several factors, mostly to do with the cost/benefilt analysis and my pocketbook, I am heading back to AMD. The last AMD processor I had was the 3800+ so I need to get back up-to-date on their product line.
The proposed lineup consists of:
ASUS Crosshair IV Formula Socket AM3/AMD 890FX board
AMD Phenom II X6 Six-Core Processor 1090T AM3
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5970 2 GB BLACK EDITION in crossfire
OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600 MHz 8G (4x2G) OCZ3P16004GK

The replacement board was DOA? Can ya get your money back?
The list you have seems right...all the proc. brand specific items that matter.

Flak, since Asus does not seeem to have a RMA process on their website, most likely yes, I've lost the money.

ok sorry did not see the radeon listed the first time!
asus does have a rma section I had to return my orig board that i'm running, I don't remember if I had to call them or what been too many yrs since I had to do it.
edit
OK OK I just looked at asus's web site and found out that your supposed to contact the reseller that you bought the board from  sorry! but! the good news is that all MB's have a 3 yr warranty!
sooo you'll have to e-mail/call who you bought the MB from sorry dude.

Most are $150 and up for a 6 year old Mobo that is 3 Gen's old. Ridiculous. There is one that is priced right, but I can't compete with that right now.
