red flies are beginning to be a problem and I found out WHY. when a red fly has no player or bot targets, it attacks other monsters, vamping their health and getting huge. before this they never ate monsters, just people. but I watched it happen a couple of times... as soon as I appeared they stopped eating a mercenary and started eating me... as I watch it split into to just from eating the mercenary.

They can be a pain in the butt but they are good the way they are, if they cant eat you because you are hiding, they eat their comrades instead.

who said anything about hiding... the wave was about 20 seconds old on wave 4 or so and I round a corner and it splits into 2 flies... bad news

Ya know... I may have a few presents for Szlat if this keeps up... some stakes, some wet rawhide, an anthill, and a spoon or two of honey on a hot sunny day.

OH, so that's why they are often in groups or differently sized.

Actually I'm with szlat... I think it's kinda funny, perhaps moreso if you're a spectator...
I did hear rumours that they had become more vicious.
I bet he's been waiting to see if people noticed!
