Szlat,
The large gasbags can make copies of themselves with out throwing off the monster count. So can this same code be applied to the red flies to keep the monster count in check?

hmm wouldnt that have to mean if the main fly is to be killed then all the other flies would also die...at the moment it is not like that

Agreed. And the Queens spawn pupae.
As Elite says I did it slightly differently so that when you kill the first fly all the rest don't immediately die with it. But there is code in there that should make sure the monster count is correct. Killing the original fly should reduce the invasion monster count, killing one of the copies should not affect the monster count.

I see how this works, but I personally think it would make more sense to increase the monster count when a copy fly spawns and decrease it when a copy dies. This would have the copies count as new monsters and the waves would not progress unless ALL of these flies are squished.

Wouldn't working for map completion mean that you'd have to work by killing all the flies which would be considered more work as opposed to killing the mains? O_o

It seems that Dead_Freddo enjoys letting the bugs feed on purpose so that he can gain the xp... until they eat him alive.
After multiple maps like this, this morning... it got old.. very quick.
But hey... passing up 1500 xp in 2 minutes... could you pass it up?

I don't see it being easier since there are some flies still left and are bigger than titans swimming around with only one person alive being easy, though watching lower-levels getting eaten by them the moment they spawn is funny every now and then.

well it was implied that they be removed or a major change done to them to make it easier to deal with them! That's not what this server is about! we happen to have Demonic coder that takes delight in torturing us with his beasties! and then give us (new) skills and such (that needs fine tuned) to kill them with! If it wasn't in our mule headed stubbornness we would leave the server and not come back! BUT!!!! since we happen to like the play on here we STAY. Ya just gotta figure out a good way to kill them suckers off fast!

OR let the fly follow you until you get near a sent specialist then take a sit and look how the sentinels take care of it while you eat popcorn.
