Ive seen a lot these days that some members like to map voting when someone is in wave 13 or 10, when they die they just start voting, and dont let the other players finish the game.
Today 2 members just were on voting spree changing maps like crazy just because they didnt like them, we were only 4 players on those maps.
They changed map 4 times in a row, any ideas to stop preventing this?

I always like to ask politely "please do not vote till map is finished",it is the respectful thing to do and should be understood by all.
unfortunately some people just don't understand they can learn a lot from watching other players.
heck I've been there and learned a lot from watching a guy like TON finish off wave 16 by himself.
but then again I've been hearing a lot of whining about how much xp so and so isn't getting, so I can see why people are voting to get to the next map.
It also seems like we've been playing an awful lot of pre-built hidey hole maps and the must link the high lvl Engi maps (the camping is getting silly again IMHO), wander about people, no guts no glory, squish them bugs

Yep, that is one of my pet peeves too.
We can always let the server do the map selection automatically (no map vote allowed), thus all maps would be rotated thru for playing instead of the same old maps every day.
We might see a map once every three days or so.

I was one of the people voting that time being mentioned and things are not being correctly mentioned. we voted on wave 6 because I thought it was a bad map. the very next map we voted off on wave 1.

I agree with Trooper on the misinterpretation of what happened. I did notice Trooper voted once... and I joined in. After that, the map changed again (I didn't notice who voted) and finally someone else ended up voting once more, but that's because at the time I thought that Medic Masher and I were the only ones playing (two more players logged in shortly after).
Either way, I don't think it's an intentional abuse.. I think some of us just weren't paying attention and overdid it.

is there a way to put a botton called "random" map? to vote? (im not in the same discussion with ryu, but i think that will be a nice addition)

Alice: What a funny watch! It tells the day of the month, and it doesn't tell what o'clock it is!
The Hatter: Why should it? Does your watch tell you what year it is?
Alice: Of course not, but that's because it stays the same year for such a long time together.
The Hatter: …which is just the case with mine.

that would be nice... since if someone votes for a specific map there is no chance of a random map anymore. adding a "random map" map for us to vote for would allow us to get something new more often

Well yeah clone, You were the first one in changing maps, It was very rude from your part to start voting in wave 6 when u were dead and I was still alive killing titans Is the sweet money wave and you just start voting, The map was breakfast which is not a bad map, in your opinion is bad for you but that doesnt mean you have to change the map every time you want, thats kinda selfish. Nothing personal dude but its not quite right to do that.
After changing the map breakfast you started to vote again in wave 1 and then in the next map started to vote when the wave 6 was starting, again...... too many votes in a row....
As I stated before nothing personal

I voted on wave 1 of breakfast because I dont like the map. it wont change unless others agree and if majority doesnt like it then its "rude" to force the majority to stay on the map. the next map was phase shift which I LOVE and I did not vote for a new map. someone else did

I've had this happen to me as well. I'll be either the last one, or 1 of a couple left, and suddenly the map vote window pops up. Very annoying when I'm trying to finish off a titan wave (and rocks are flying around). Especially when I've got to hit anything about a hundred times to kill it.
I understand the feeling of having to wait and watch, being a low level once, long ago, with a character that would die in one shot past wave 6. Those of us who paid our dues and built up xp excruciatingly slow over the years have a right to finish out a map (or at least try to).
It has been mentioned, and I agree, that you can learn a lot from watching. It would be different if the last guy is sitting in a hidey hole - not even trying - waiting for timercide. If you catch me doing that, you are welcome to map vote me.

Mmmmmmm.. I havent tried the server since a long time ago, but as far as I remember is not polite to start a vote when other players are killing monsters and if it is a titan wave is more rude to do that!!
As far as I know this server is recommended for players who have abilities to play any map at any level of difficulty no matter if they like it or not, is about skill.
I recommend to just enjoy the map everyone voted for.

Bottom line is that it is rude to initiate a map vote while other players are still alive on a map. The only time that I would say that initiating a map vote during the game is a good idea is when the server ignores the vote and selects another map.
If I do not like the map that has been selected by the majority vote, then I have two choices, play it or leave the game until the map is finished. I will not force a map vote in the middle of the game just because I'm dead or because I do not like the map.
The majority rules when the map is voted for and the vote should be honored regardless of your personal feelings about the map. To do otherwise destroys the integrity of the voting system that we have in place.
If this continues, I will get with Dru and Shan to see what can be done to put a stop to this. It is not what is intended with the majority map vote system currently in place.

If everyone is dead... the map is over. That just doesn't make sense. Defeats the purpose of the majority of map vote.

I agree that's a good time, but it takes a majority to vote a new map and if the majority votes a new map, then democracy has done it's job. That's how I see the "majority map vote" system working. Yes, it's just my perception, but obviously, it's shared amongst others too.

Noone can agree or not agree here. If those are your only options, cool.. choose as you will, but as far as the options in the game, you can wait and play, leave and wait, or vote another map if you don't like the map.

Again, I disagree. IF the map that is currently being played was voted by the majority from the previous map and are all currently playing on said current map... then there's a darn good chance that the majority vote wouldn't happen to switch the current map anyway. Besides, it's actually pretty rare that the map vote is the actual majority from the previous map. There's many many times that only 1 or 2 people vote and one of those two are chosen. Alot of people (including myself) run to the bathroom or to the kitchen for water during the map change. Everything being discussed here is dependant on multiple people (more than half the current players) making the concise effort to go through the process of selecting a map and initiating a mid-map vote. This is how democracy works. One person doesn't change the map (or the world), but if people follow, then you could have said change.

Please do. If the intent of the mid-map voting system (aka majority vote system) is something different than initiating a mid-map vote to change the map, perhaps there needs to be a change in the naming convention or the name of the process itself.

Personally I think before initiating a map vote mid-map, it is reasonable to send a request to all players before doing so.
just starting a vote because you feel like it isn't respectful to those around you, because surely someone else will just start voting because you did.
but I think the issue raised was more of multiple map votes one after another, if you didn't stick around for the vote (I go for a smoke a lot of the time myself) suck it up you gave up your vote.
I will say one word that you will hear me say if I have any issues while online at DC and we all know it and it's why we stay here RESPECT
if you have a problem with it ,maybe your at the wrong place
