Alright folks I need some suggestions for a good decent priced tower for my PC. So first off I'm looking for something between 200-500 dollars that can run games quickly and efficiently with plenty of memory and speed. I don't know what all that computer lingo means when I'm looking so that's why I'm coming to you game fanatics. . I'd appreciate the help. Obviously I'll need the web address if you find it on the web. I was just checking out TigersDirect.com and newegg.com. Thanks and I hope to hear from some of you.

Yeah I am. I was told by some of my buddies that AMD is a really good brand. Course any suggestions are helpful for other reliable long standing brands. lol. Thank you Demon for helping me out with this.

You're welcome. AMD is a good brand but does not offer the power and flexability that Intel does. However, on the flip side, AMD processors are far cheaper than the comparable Intel processor.

I decided to go another route maybe. lol. Aside from the video card what makes a system run faster as far as loading games and other such stuff? I didn't know AMD's where less powerful. Hmmm. Maybe I should stick with intel if I have the money to keep up with it.

ok main issue is get more RAM!!! lol I got a amd 1700+ chip way slower than what u got!

xp likes at least 2 gig of mem to work nice, 3 gig is like max it will see/use and a stand alone vid card will also increase the system speed since its not use'n the system memory like the on board vid chip does!

now if you happen to have a Fry's store around you look at their ads they always have some form of complete system or cpu mother board combo for cheap!

and amd is always chip'n away at intel!

I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!

I know I have way more gigs than what the Cdrive says I have. lol. I have an external hard drive That my E drive with 37.2 Gigs and another internal That would be my F drive which has 149 Gigs of space. I upgraded the Vid Card about 4 years ago to I think it was a Nvidia 6800 GT model. (Shrugs)

no when I and everyone else says memory we mean RAM not hard drive!
a hard drive is your file cabinet to store all your stuff in and RAM is your brain where you pull it out of the file cabinet and read it and do things with it!
then there's the swap file windows has or whats called virtual memory.. its your desk top where you lay something down to do something else but will need again real soon so you don't put it back in the file.

xp works with 1 gig and less of ram but likes 2 gigs

vista will work with 2 gigs but likes 3 gigs better now win 7 is supposed to be better at not being a memory hog like vista and I have not heard what it likes for memory.....but more is always better espeically if you have a 64 bit operating system and a multi core cpu (allows you to multi task better)

I got a 320 gig hard drive and I have to delete things on a fairly regular basis to have room to do things

I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!

That's the reason why my next build will have 3TB of hd space and the cost was less than $300.00.
