Alright folks I'm hoping all you computer wiz's can help me out. For one I miss playing UT04 and have tried several times to switch it from my extra F drive which I installed in my computer to my C drive. The problem obviously being my C drive doesn't contain enough memory so that I might be able to play UT again. My thought is that if I can play it from my F drive that would mean I wouldn't have to keep transferring from F to C and viceversa. So is there a way I can play it from my F drive with my C drive being my main one? Or is there a way for me to connect my F drive and my C drive so that they both become my main drives? (Sigh) Well I think those are straight forward but I could be wrong. I hope you can help me out so I might play again. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Fire_Eclipse

Completely remove UT2004 from your pc, clean up and defrag all drives, and load the game directly onto the desired drive (make sure that you specifiy the drive path when prompted). I have mine on the "D" drive as D\UNREAL SERIES\UNREAL TOURNAMENT\ UT2004. I do it this way since I also have Unreal Gold, Unreal 2, and UT3 loaded.

ok just to verify you have ut on the old puter HD and you put into the new puter? if thats the case the game is set to C: as the install but now is F: or what ever drive/partion it shows up as... so games is on drive f and thinks its on drive c only way to fix is uninstall and reinstall where u want it and then it will work just fine.
its just like when your drunk and think your home and are really someplace else!

Provided the install was ok before, you don't necessarily have to re-install. You can just run the "UT2004 Registry Fixer" by Spaz (I have version 1.2), which allows you to re-enter your key and sets all the appropriate registry entries for you. I haven't looked online for it recently, but if you can't find it let me know.

What Szlat suggested should work. I've been using a program called COA. It allows you to move a program installed on one drive to another location. You have to actually move the files yourself but the program goes into the registry and makes all the necessary link changes. It works in WinXP even though the site doesn't mention it.

You mean I really am important? How I feel when I'm drunk is correct?

Alright to answer one question, I have the same computer but I just added another drive to my old one but it doesn't seem to link it up to the C drive which is where the main stuff is. So I'm gonna work it simple and uninstall then reinstall in the F drive which I've been told in theory should work. So I'll give it a try and see what happens. On a different note I wonder how that is going to work. Thanks for the help and I will try that out soon.

ok I have a question Fire is the F: drive a new drive or a partition on the drive? If new/other drive just installed what bus is it on and is it set up right for that bus? is in the correct position by the jumper settings and ribbon? it sounds like theres some form of conflict going on some where to me but who am i to say i'm just an old slap em together guy...unless there happens to be some bad sectors on the drive also , but if it was working before install a extra drive then there is a conflict with that drive for some reason try pulling the drive back out and re-install UT and see what happens if it works fine the it is the drive

You need to install the patch to 3369
http://downloads.unrealadmin.org/UT2004/Patches/Windows/
(the last two patches)

Alright so I installed the two UT patches. I'm going to try again. If not I'm gonna have to check out what's up with my drives and what not.
