Know any old players?

Hi! You guys know/remember any players who played on DC but no longer play? I was looking at some old profiles and decided to post this forum.
Please tell....
How many old players you know (the count altogether then some names)
Well this profile Cloudy34 gave me the idea to start this post when i was looking through the "tell me a little about yourself" post

whatever happened to fodder see him post every now and again but I hear he plays "other" games now

there are some other player I remember but not so fondly as they tended to wander around on their own..playing in the wilderness quiet and not really part of the team I'll be nice and not write their names here

wow its been a wonderfull 2 1/2 years for me playing here was interesting scanning through those names
but gotta bump an old topic again

As a true newbie (by true meaning I learned to play FPS on this server and was absolutely atrocious when I started) I used to love sitting back, having been killed early in every wave, and watch Blade_tx, micron, Fodder (I thought he had computer issues hence his lack of playing time), shimmynshake, Ratar, Greedo, count d'money, etc.

In fact it was watching those guys play that got me off of my medic and start my WM.

I also miss playing with Miss Kitty, she was always a lot of fun to play with.

i played with miss kitty only twice however i still remember, which means she leaved a good impresion on me

Ton and Zog were the 2 i remember most in my formative DC days. They were always willing to help with advice and fun to watch single handedly finish maps.

Miss Kitty was always cool and would show up at the oddest hours - 3 or 4 in the morning sometimes.

ohh i played few times with zog and i belive only 2 times with ton... wish more time to know them

Actually, upgrading MB and Video card. They both work now together great. The more pressing reason I'm not playing UT2004 is I lent my UT2004 disks to my nephew so he can try it out, he couldn't install it so he gave me my disks back w/o the CD key. Can't reinstall it without the key.

Left4Dead is great. I do have UT3 so maybe you'll see me there. Meanwhile, I have more zombies and survivors to kill!

mmm might be hard however it would be great to have 1 day with all those mighty old players..! any feelings?

Some that come to mind are KitFox...great player....320x240, Micron, Redeye (still plays once in a great while), Botfodder (still posts here occasionally), Ooo, Dirty Deeds (I remember thinking that lvl 370-something was insane), Biceps, LX7-Honey, James, and many others.

wow...you took a lot of the names i was thinkin! I have been on here for over 5 years! Actually its been round 7 now! I learned how to play UT on this server really! Man the first group i played with was Cptn Crunch and ChaChi and Chloe...Dirty Deeds (who played on dial up the whole time! he was AMAZING!!) emetakleze...Cplmac, Biceps!!! I miss him! he was so funny! Ess-jay! tho he still pops up once in a while! Peashooter! tho i still talk to him once in while as well!! LDK...Senor_taco (who we just went to a Flogging Molly concert with actually!) Chyster...*sigh* good times!!!!

It is amazing how many of those of us who were playing on this server when Dru started it up, are no longer playing (or like myself, only play once in awhile). We had been playing on some other UT2K3 server, which may have been Midwest Mayhem, but I am thinking was more likely the server run by BDB (who created MapVote, which we use at the end of a game), but that server had been unstable for some time. And so Dru & Shan decided to start a server, and what became DC was born.

BTW... how many of you know what the name of the DC server originally was? Respond to me by PM... and I will post the correct answer along with who answered correctly.

Anyways, among the earliest of us was indeed Dru and Shan (of course), Dirty (yep, he was great, even over dialup), Biceps, bigbobz, chameleon, chankie, llachor, and stealthbob, with many of them being members of BEL clan at one time (which is why I remember them). Fire, Pyro and Wombat, Slayer and MandaPanda were there playing with us in the early years as well,, as DC was very quickly a very popular server. But it is really scary to look at the DC forum member list (the forums starting like a year after the server was created), to see how many have moved on. I know some have moved on to other games such as WoW, and others have vanished, while unfortunately a few others I will not name have been banished (moves I am not desputing... in some cases, it was just a matter of time). I was quite happy to see Dru and Shan return to activity a few months back, but it seems like we are dealing with like the 4th or 5th (or are we talking about the 10th or 12th) generation here on DC. Some of the folks who kept me coming back to DC still show from time to time (which includes folks like Sub, Ratar, and others). And thankfully, I have new friends. I just hope that I can get back to playing more regularly soon.

I know that I am going to have to go through some of the old screen shots, to see what I can find. While I was not as... OCD... about taking shots of the end game (which I do about 99.9% of the time), I know I have some great shots from back then. In the meantime, I will say that if you search for stuff I have put up on this server, you can find other sites with snapshots of that early history.

Well... busy day. But hopefully, I will be able to get on tonight (especially likely if I see folks like Sub or Pyro are on).

I agree. I am trying to remember just exactly how far back DC (and it's previous name) go. I know I have UT2003.ini files back in 2004 Feb 10 which list it, but I think I may have rotated even more versions of the file out of rotation. So I know it goes back to at least that point.

And yep Spike. I remember when you joined. And I think you joined a few months before the name change.

greedo!!! man i miss that guy! he made me laugh! tho i do seem to see him on the rare occasion (i know im working on it!) i get on tho! Im ganna have to get on tomorrow for sure!
