Bringing the PAIN part II : We are TITAN

so here we are about one year later for me (a year of pure addiction to DC) and to celebrate I'm updating my Medics guide to glory . see that guide here http://www.disastrousconsequences.com/dcforum/posts/list/3302.page (note : this is not a completely serious guide but good for a laugh ,and kinda how I did it)
I'll go through the basics (skills to purchase and when) and some advanced" technique (the art of medic melee ,or berserking my brains out)
Well you have taken step one by coming to the forums many player whom are more skilled , and knowledgeable than me have left advice here and some are willing to give it online (cough,cough JAMS) but that can get irritating if it goes on too long spam spam spam spam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwy2MPT5RE and my deep manly voice is not easily understood by all sometimes I sound like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaZyxCAYuoc , and if I need to speak it means my finger is off of a button it probably should be on.

so lets get started first the obvious press "L" and buy ur medic class, now you need to max out Loaded Medic
now the next step is one I wished i had taken put 25 pts into adren and buy adren drip (I remember hearing Vasago yelling "this is awesome why didn't anyone ever tell me about adren drip !!"), there is nothing more frustrating than running around trying to build up a lowsy 10 adren with a shield gun, only to have a Nali give you a shield gun right back.
the next batch of skills is up to you for the order in which you buy them but weapon speed, and damage bonus should be next. MAX 'em up. More damage faster = keep yourself alive. Experienced Healing should be bought shortly thereafter the lvl is up to you (but as Cribbage pointed out to me maxing it though expensive is a huge xp gain and it pays off forever,unlike most skills)
now you have the core skills maxed the next to do is max out your health ,damage reduction, and adrenaline (in that order) as soon as you can purchase higher lvls of adren drip do so. Medic awareness is also very helpful it's like a reverse ambulance were the victims cry out I'm over here.
ok that should get you somewhere around lvl 75 were you will buy advanced damage reduction , 10 lvls later its maxed (WOOT) I'll explain the benefits of this later.
at this point you should be surviving through most of the maps only dying here or there (Grrr warlords, or stray titan boulder) so you'll want to buy Ghost up to lvl 3

now utter domination begins : pupae,skaarj and brutes HURRA
I actually bought Ultima before getting monsters , but they can be extremely beneficial
basic monster strategy : get 3 or 4 and use them to distract of destroy a coupla pupae can distract a titan long enough to finish it off (or run away and heal yourself), and 2 or 3 manta can take down a titan (just watch Cribbage) , just stay away from the flies that buzzing makes everyone paranoid!!
now before we get too excited (when do I get my TITAN!!) monsters are expensive and don't really pay off for a while...soo what we do is get loaded monsters till you get Brutes,getting to lvl 7 monster intelligence (even with Maxx INT brutes can't resist Elevator lifts so watch em closely )while doing so now build up your monster points to lvl 18 (yep 3 Brutes lvl 20 get you 2 behemoths and a brute

), don't be afraid to buy monster health bonus along the way it cheap at lower levels and well worth it. now find a closed in area and watch them work.
I guess you could get all the monsters before getting ghost...but when you die they die so...wastes all that

Xp just huddling there in a corner : Engineers not just an irritation anymore
Well long ago when part I of this was written the scourge of many (the engineer) did not exist so I never got to benefit from the easiest xp you'll find.
Usually found huddled in a small group these ingenious gopher like creatures supply an non ending supply of easy xp. If you can find them (sure you will you'll be tripping over their blocks they leave all over the place) they tend to stay in one area and with no regen (unlike the elusive Adren Junkie whos always runnning about) you can just stand there healing away till you get bored and move on

Berserking my Brains out : the "art" of medic melee
que the music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xCB6-h3wbs now get your adren to 100 (or more) and call out to Módi and Magni and launch yourself into the closest crowd of monsters.here is were damage red, and adv damage reduction come in as you can deal out and take a huge amount of damage while berserking (RL or Flak required) as you heal yourself as you go along and the damage done to you is rather small after being reduced. Now do keep an eye on your health a gob from a Lava skaarj can still take you down if your not careful. Heal blast are needed at these times. a good berserk should last an entire wave ideally. My personal best waves 3 waves in one berserk combo (my heart was pumping so hard I thought I was gonna croak what a blast)
berserking is your best friend when it comes to good xp gain ,double ,multi ...HS kills all provide bonus xp along with the mountain of corpses you'll leave in your wake will impress all without a doubt.

Strategy by wave : when to save that berserk and when to let it rip

waves 1-4 - map it out familiarize youreslf with the map ; weapon locations,hiding spots, engineer groupings,Double damage. if u have enough go ahead and berserk.
wave 5 - get ready for the money round save up and top up your adren. titans are next
wave 6 - Let 'er rip (I prefer the Flak vs. Titans , but the link can be deadly as well)
wave 7-9 - wave 7 is were I start using the RL instead of the Flak (need to get that monkey Xp) more wanderings through these waves. save up your adren for wave 10
wave 10 - Skaarj - Berserk...this wave is normally a guaranteed ultra-kill wave, if not more and lotsa double kills are possible too
wave 11 - ok save up that adren find a good funnelled off area (engineers hovel) and get ready for the Pain
wave 12 - Warlords..well good luck anyways I died here alot. a little hint ULTIMA can really pay off on this wave the best 50 pts I spent taking out a flock of warlords in a big blast as I ghost away and cry out "BOOM"
wave 13 - money round next get a flak save up your adren
wave 14 - Titans regular and shiny , this wave a link can be über effective because there are a lot more titans than wave 6 , but those metal ones like to get in front of the regular ones and stop all the fun so beware
wave 15 - your almost there
wave 16 - full adren,check,huddled in with the engineers,check,heal blast icon ready,check,nervous,check,well good luck. Go after those queens they null the turrets and make the server crash (my theory) and then you'll have done all this for nothing !!

actually getting Xp : opposite side of map (Micron,Elite I'm talking about you)
should you have the unfortunate pleasure (jokes) of meetin Elite,Micron, or ShimmynShake. while playing you'll quickly realize they seem to kill EVERYTHING and leave little for you (oh and Bot too forgot bout him)try to keep an eye for them and when you see them quickly move to the other side of the map

Illicit Drugs : non-medic artifacts
with medic melee all kinds of things fall on you the most usefull of these is the rod. wave 10 a DD and a rod can quickly = HS kill. The triple when used properly can be Devastating . and the Globe of invul. takes up a rather small amount of adren for its usefullness, use these as you see fit (I'm not giving you all my secrets )

ya ya ya when do I get MY TITAN : Meat shields
the moving door blocker, 1400 + hp worth of shield, Titans serve may purposes the most important of these is stepping on nali, and squishing red skaarj with boulders. but did you know they also distract others players (whom try to kill them...Wonko leave fluffy alone

) leaving all kinds of extra monsters for you to kill.
The Titan is sort of a badge among higher lvl medics most whom never use (cept me cause I love putting them in a small room and watching the CHAOS)
but honestly yur better off maxing out your ammo bonus. WHAT ?

!? you may say. yep as you hit lvl 200 you'll realize you can't keep all those non-medics alive all the time and you need a piercing flak that DOM was handing out on wave 7 cause that Null warlord you've fired 100 Rockets into just ain't going down , and you see a hint of red running up behind ready to GOOP you, and you wishing you had all the moves TON has.

well I think that about covers everything now Que the music I'm going in

edit : just remember monsters ignore(don't attack) their own species (cept when titans duke it own in an Ultra-heavy bout)

Hi, I was on last night, started a medic, and was just trying to remember what buttons to push, let alone what skills to take. A few patient people told me in chat exactly what you said in the beginning of the guide....and I saved up some xp to use later tonight, so your guide being here today was a certain stroke of luck for me. I was weapons years ago, and medic is very different but loads of fun.

welcome back , Medics are a whole other strategy but can be extremely fun to play ,and are always appreciated by other players
Its good to see so many new medics around for a while there were very few so I was using my medic LOTS, and its nice now to not feel I have to use my medic as others can keep me alive now

That is : When do I get my titan? (seriously when..?....I just want to mess around when I get back)
Nice guide though....Ive never been a fan of the medic rocket...but it seems its quite common...maybe I should try it when I get back on

well Jason I guess you could max out your loaded monsters before getting the points to get three brutes
(3 brutes = 18 monsters points not sure what lvl loaded monsters but I think its fairly low, Titan = maxed loaded monsters & 14 monster points)
but the 3 brutes are more cost effective, they tend to get killing sprees going and keep them running longer
the RL is very popular because it deals and heals a large amount

and is available on prety much every map

how are things going with your CPU (vid card) ?

It was motherboard (and vid card they claim...)...and the computer may be coming back..soon...may......
Well Im going to work on the points first..(seeing you need more points to summon a titan anyways...) Im up to a normal skaarj now..so I have a fair bit to go with my lvl82 medic.......

didn't think you needed a guide TON. I watched you a lot when I first started and learned lots about actually backing away and 'leading' monsters and the all important 'planting' of the translocater. so thank you
