I agree, great work on the guide.

I also learned a lot of stuff from Ton as a dead spectator just watching him single handedly finish waves.

I don't have monsters yet, but Clueless is going that way and she really appreciates your guide as well.

I wish I had done my medic a bit differently at this point. Before the difficulty changed my build did pretty good. Instead of drip, I bought my loaded monsters up to the point that I could summon several Skarji. It worked very well at the time, but not so effective now.

If I had drip, the blast and such would be more effective. Right now, It seems like I have to kill quite a bit to use one.

Thanks for the Guide!

Well, here is my two sense...being a bit of a seasoned frag jockey of old just returning and starting a medic.

My job is to heal first, kill 2nd (especially after wave 9)...It may not help the score but does well for xp, and at my level (31) round 10/11-16 is spent holed up near an engineer, expecting that WM's will pop by for a healing blast or traditional heal. I will venture out if I am one of the last standing in a wave, but look to heal first in those waves - and just be a good soldier and lay down fire in a concentrated area near the bunker.

Now, granted, my scores if I didn't have the technical issues I am having with restarting each game at least once, maybe twice, would be about 500-600 at this level, mainly because being a WM years ago I have the urge to be offensive and rack up the first 400 pts. in rounds 1-9 with the melee style offense of rocket or flak charging enemies while staying healed up. (that's a long sentence)

Monsters are not even a thought for me yet...I have max weap speed, working on max dmg, then will max out dmg reduction, and consider monsters after that...imp dmg reduction and more xp healing as well.

See you in game!

I agree Beylin I started out doing that very thing (heal first) but got more aggressive quickly when I realized my medic lived longer than my LW

also why my medic has 100 lvls on my LW

I could not agree more, healing is what comes first, the fact taht I get a little XP for it too is just bonus.

Well, I finished earning the EXP to buy drip last night. It makes a huge difference in the amount of healing that I can do in a given period of time. I also got within 100 points of my old high score on the same map, unfortunately the map reset on wave 13 and went to another map. I will never know, but I feel that I could have broken 2k. Its only a matter of time now.

Thanks for the help road!

drip is a HUGE advantage to medics..and let me guess turret death after wave 13 ? seems to crash server I think Szlat is working on a fix already

and once again glad I could help. some of this was how planned to do it the rest was just realizing something irritated me and I had to figure out how to fix it luckily the medic class is the most forgiving of all classes because you can always earn Xp by healing as long as you ignore the scoreboard for a while (which I think is a BIG mistake that n00bs make as you watch Micron, or Elite scoring and get depressed by your own score when you shouldn't)

Hey, we all get depressed watching the scoreboard regardless of class or level when Micron, Elite, or Violator gets on........

Thank you Grizzled, but I'm nowhere close to their ability and talent, not to mention some other players we've had that I place in their catagory.

Fro is hands-down the best player I have ever seen. He has held one of the all-time highest scores on this server for two years. (look at the high score table) Not to mention he set that score when, IMO, it was a bit more difficult to attain such numbers. If he played more lately, there is no doubt in my mind that he would own a few more high scores....and would be my bet to be the first to break 4k mark.

Kitfox was also very, very good. Blade is amazing as well. 320, Ooo, and a few others I'm forgetting.

I heard Fro had some awesome scores was it as a Medic?
and yeah the "beta" period of engineers threw off the hhigh score board a bit too

but my point was new players need to ignore the scoreboard as I tended to in the beginning especially medics as you can get a LOT of xp on a map and have a very low score.

If the goal is to clear the map, it means if I am going offense when I could have healed an Engineer or WM, then I failed. No matter what I am doing, I am keeping an eye on health bars, and any blue dots coming near me on the mini-map. The later waves my offense is spraying outside of the bunker. Early waves, I play offense, just to get "some" score. I agree with the above posts in that the later waves are not for scoring as a medic, they are for more XP. That said, if you are going offense all game as a high level medic, that's fine too, as long as you are having fun! I like playing the role, so if I don't heal you, shoot me, or tell me in game to wake up.
