none of that system information is related to your network...

please list your router make and model (like: Linksys WT54G)... and connection method (Ethernet, Wireless, HPNA)... doesn't make sense that you would have packet loss starting at wave 7 tough... what exactly is occurring that causes you to suspect packet loss?

test your internet speed at:

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

post your results... if you're getting good bandwidth, it could be a packet loss issue, in which case I'll have you perform a different test

the test is a website... i know it says "speakeasy" but it's a speed test... just go there and post your results for Downstream and Upstream...

I tried it out and it works and I am not in the USA I am in Canada.

Raze2K5 - I pay for high speed does this look like high speed results? There is one speed higher than the one I pay for. That speed is really expensive and not in my area yet. The high speed I pay for now does not seem any better than the lower speed I had before. I have ADSL phone wireless connection but I have it wired.

I tried a few speed tests.

Hi Miss You were on DC when i first joined, you kept offering me weapons, and i told you I was only there to explore Dru's map list to see how his redirect was and if I was missing any sweet maps from my own server... hiya

Yes, those are HSIA (high-speed internet access) results... according to your results, it looks like you're subscribed to a 3Mbps download, with 768 Kbps upload... it may be 3M down/1M up...

but if you're subscribing to a faster service (like 6, 9, 10, 11, or 12Mbps) I'd recommend downgrading to a speed near what you're actually achieving, because you're wasting money..

if, however, you ARE subscribed to the 3Mbps down /768Kbps up, then stick with it, and consider bumping it up if you want a speed increase

I work for AT&T as a networking technician, I do this all... day... every... day...

Hello Rad

I am getting what I am paying for. No higher speed in my area and I live down town. I pay $45 for this service and I get a deal. Thinking of going cable.

many thanks for your help.

How did you say you're connecting to the internet, Disiple? Your results are really bad unless you're on Cox's hidden plan, but even then it should be much faster Let me know what kind of internet speed you are currently paying for, because unless you're paying for one of the low-end basic streams, it's really bad...

Basically: Your download speed is 1Mbps, which would've been ok on UT99 for a 1v1 deathmatch, but you've got invasion going on with tons of information being streamed at once... really, it's no more than 10Kbps, which is 1/10th of your total download speed... BUT, considering client-cross communication and other things that windows likes to do, your results are really poor...

Even worse, your upload speed is 81kbps, or .01Mbps if anything, I suspect your upload to be the cause of the issue...

What you can do:
Cox offers a hidden "Line insurance" plan that most reps won't speak about unless you ask... it's $5 a month (I believe) and there's no obligation to keep it... What I would do is I would put the insurance on the lines... call up, have a premesis technician dispatched to evaluate the lines in your home, and have him check the signal from your modem back to the Central Office... the coax cables in your home may need to be updated to a newer standard, or it could be what's called "the drop", which is the piece of cable running from the side of your house, to the 1st cable pole (everything from the drop on into your home is called "CPE" or "Customer Premise Equipment") If you have digital cable, do you see pixilation a lot? because of so, we may have found our problem... after all the lines are checked and replacements are made, call Cox and cancel the insurance and you won't have to pay for it (verify all this with sales though... line insurance - $5/mo... no contract or obligation to keep it... cancel at any time) good luck
