Scale is 1 to 10...with 1 sucking too bad to buy, 3 being ok, 5 being worthwhile, 7 is good, 8 or above is very good.
Resistance (fall of man) 8.7
Blazing Angels 7.4
Full Auto 2 8.1
Untold Leagends (dark kingdom) 6.7
Genji (day of the blade) 5.5
these are of course just my openion, I have rated these games entirely based upon how much I like them.

There's something that I've been wondering about ever since the PS3 came out on the market. I've had limited time playing, but enough to notice how great the graphics are. Was the PS3 worth the $600+ purchase? Obviously there are other advantages to owning a system, like being able to watch bluray discs, but I don't see how that much money can justify a video game system. Comparatively, my Wii costs less than half the price of a PS3 and is much more entertaining. I'm not trying to spark a debate over which is better, I just can't imagine spending that much money and being satisfied with it.

Are you referring to HD DVD? They're comparable in quality. Apparently LG showed off a Bluray/HD DVD combo player at CES, so that's encouraging news for the format war. Even so, the prospect of buying HD movies for $10 more than the standard def counterparts isn't that enticing.

There is a lot of smoke in the air over the console wars. I will say this about owning a PS3 and the price. My computer was several times the price. is it worth it? depends on how much money it is to you, if it is a significant percentage then no, it would not be worth it. My kids like the Wii fine, I like the PS3.
Also note, PS3 does not just play blue-ray, it plays HD DVD as well, so you are set no matter which way things turn out in the war of formats. Just a note tho, there have been over 1 million early adopters for Blu-ray, wheras HD DVD figures are sittling at around 500,000 total. Its not decided yet, but Im watching close.
As for the 360? I have not played one yet, but I have a friend that has more than a grand invested in his in add ons like hard drives and wireless cards, the Microsoft t.m. spacific headset that is the only one that works with the system, the Microsoft t.m. spacific keyboard etc. and he is still paying a subscription fee for the right to use the console he already purchased on the only network that will accept its input. I don't have a real openion over if it is better but I don't like subscription fees, that kind of shot the 360 down for me. Of course I heard that HALO 2 is gonna be real kickin.....so you never know....I could be there too......

Wait...
what?
Have you tried playing HD DVD's yourself? That doesn't make any sense. Sony is trying to kill HD DVD with their own media format. That would be so contradictory to support a competing technology. You're not talking about upscaling standard def DVD's are you?

Nope, Im talking about playing HD DVD discs on your ps3. Both formats use very similar technology in the hardware department. I did not get entirely caught up in the hype when I purchased a release PS3....I did some research first. and no, I have not played a HD dvd on the system, I have only played Blue ray discs...

Right, that's how a combo player has been made, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you can play HD DVD's without replacing the Blu ray drive, among other things.

On the side of the console, next to the other trademark symbols CDs and DVDs and Blue ray is the trade mark symbol for the HD DVD format, also it says that it plays them in the manual

No worries!
I was just trying to figure out if there was something that I didn't know about.

I think he might be referring to Total Hi Def(THD). These disks have HD-DVD format on one side and Blu-ray on the other side. So, they could be played in either player.

Yeah but it seems kind of ridiculous to buy a disc that's two in one. Maybe the combo drive will prevail and it won't matter which disc format you buy haha
