I finished Resistance (fall of man) on the hard difficulty last night. after playing some multi player on line, I am upgrading the over all score of this game to a 9. My only main gripe is that the game has no mouse functionality even tho the system supports a mouse and keyboard.

I finally caved in and bought a PS3 game. I got 'Call of Duty 3'. I've only played about ten minutes as work and Boingo take up a lot of my time . The graphics are ok on it. The sound is cool, though. You can hear gunfire, vehicles, people yelling, etc. from all over the place from every speaker. I think the controls are clunky, though. It is too hard to aim and move around fast. I probably just need to get used to it. I think the graphics on a PC are better, though. They aren't horrible, but I still think a good PC will deliver much better graphics. On a scale of 1-10, so far, I'll give the game a 6.5 .
I may get that Resistence game in a month or so and try that one out. I haven't seen any other games that interest me, though. I'm not much of a gamer really.

I don't blame you, Controls for consoles take some getting used to, and I always am sacrificing sensitivity to a controller over my trackball.

I have not got a high deff tv yet so If i get Call of Duty 3 it will either be on the PC or in the ps2 format. Im actualy supprised that you were that satisfied with it, at the low end it was programed for the game cube!

I heard a rumor that said when they release the newest incarnation of UT for the PS3 it will support keyboard and mouse support. I guess we will see!

I didn't know it was programmed for the Game Cube. I know it is available in just about every game system. From what I've read about the game, it looks better on the XBox 360. I have no idea, I don't even know what the XBox looks like let alone the game. There is this one part in the game where I had to drive a jeep through some defended road blocks. Anyway, the cool part about it was that I could stear by just turning the controller from left to right. I just thought that was kinda neat. I'm guessing that is probably available on any other system, but hey, I haven't had a game system since the original Nintendo.

YEAH, On some of the games the tilt controls are implemented very well. others, not so well. I actually think that it was probably programed for the PS2 and oversampled for the next gen consoles, not positive on that but the content is supposed to be substantially the same so it probably does not use nearly all of the space on the Blu-ray disk.

Resistance is a pretty good game, I have finished it several times now, I recommend it when you can fit it into your budget. I generally get my console titles second hand myself, but that one was well worth the price. I have several friends that own Gears of War for the X-Box 360, after just 10 to 12 hours they are done with the game, Its pretty and fun, but has no staying power, at least when compared to the enjoyment that I am still getting out of Resistance. I do not know if I will finish it on the superhuman difficulty, I'm about half way through, but have started a new character on DC so we will see.

Yah, I'll get it eventually. I would get it second-hand, but the stores here sell used ones for about five dollars less then if it were brand new. So, it isn't worth it to me...yet. I have a hard time stomaching sixty dollars for a game. However, I pretty much haven't heard anything bad about that Resistence game, which surprises me. I typically read people who just have to complain about something, but I haven't seen much for this title.

Is 10 to 12 hours short? I'm not sure if that is good or not. It would take me over a month then. I've had the Call of Duty game for about two weeks now and I've only played it twice.

I guess it depends on your entertainment budget. "is 10 hours short?"

If I am looking at a game, a movie or some form of entertainment, then I simply divide the cost by the amount of time (or the amount of time I think) will be used entertaining me, or me and others in some cases. So, resistance as an example: $62.50 (includes tax) divided by the 80 total hours that me and my brother in law have played equals .78 cents per hour. This comes out to about the same cost as renting a good movie for the whole family to watch.

Lets look at UT for me hmmmm, looks bad, i went to the UT stats and don't know if I want to post how many hours I have played! Oh well, in for a penny,
971 hours, so approximately 5 cents an hour.

looks like games are going to release for the PS3 that have full keyboard and mouse support for play. The first of these is due out in July. UT3.

its too bad that we wont be playing on the same servers as the people who get the x-box 360 version.

player 1 "ohh, he's turning this way, Get Him!"
Player 2 "I don't know, its not very sportsman like to shoot him in the back, you know he is using one of those controller thingines."
Player 1 "do it, do it!"
Player 2 "see, he can see now, its fair"

It is not fair. I have years of experience with the keyboard and mouse and a controller just does not have the responsiveness.

Playing resistance online v.s. other players feels wrong, the maps are fairly open and you just cant turn your head fast enough to keep track of what it going on around you. The only plus factor to playing the game online is that the grenades are deadly. (I hate counter strike for that reason).

hmm well you can adjust the senstivity high if you you use controller..

ive got xbox and a friend of mine had told me i have the sensity high it seems...and i seem to pref the controller (anolg y-axis inversed..) tis good.. my only prob is really xbox gaming you have to pay for live access vs PC which is usuually free and seeing ive neevr had a job and i cant just suck money out of my parnets wallets , so PCs are good for me......(and also the whole personalizing your controls is alot more varried and what not.....)
