Alright, it needs to be said. Most of the games out for the Wii right now are for little kids. I had difficulty deciding which title to buy at launch because I'm not really into Spongebob or Cars (sorry folks!). So I hope everyone can avoid buying dud games by posting your reviews here for others to learn from.

My first title is Elebits. On the surface it may seem like a pokemon clone, but it's far from that.
The story is pretty dumb. I didn't take the time to follow it because of the atrocious voice acting. Essentially everything in the world is powered by little pikachu-like creatures called Elebits. You have to capture them using the Wii remote (Nunchuck is used to move around) to power things in the environment. The more you collect the more rooms you can enter and the more devices you can activate (which in turn gives you more Elebits). The catch is that Elebits tend to hide under/in/behind objects. This is where the real fun begins: the Wii remote also acts as a gravity gun to move/open/tip/shake objects. The more Elebits you capture, the larger the objects you can move. The physics in this game are so realistic and fun to interact with it's almost more entertaining to mess up a room than actually capture the Elebits. Multiplayer is nearly identical to the single player missions except there are up to 4 cross hairs on the screen instead of 1 (only one player controls the camera) which can get pretty chaotic.

On the downside the graphics are less than stellar. Obviously they won't be Xbox360 or PS3 graphics, but they're sub par for even Gamecube standards. However, the reason for this becomes apparent in multiplayer mode when objects are flying everywhere and the game lags. It's also pretty challenging to open a door (you actually have to twist and pull the remote towards you like a doorknob) and flip over devices that have fallen on the floor.

Overall this game is pretty fun, but judging by other peoples reactions, this is a love/hate game. You'll probably be better off renting this game first to see if you like it, considering this isn't the cheapest Wii title out on the market ($50).

Twilight Princess = Godly

I have been playing it way to much

It's so wonderful, except for climbing vines, I swear to my ocarina on the shelf that the climbing in this game is so very, very annoying. Second only to the swimming I'd have to say though.

Twilight is awsome! But I have to agree with vine thing, very annoying if you dont have a straight on view. Swimming isn't bad once you get the Zora armor.
My son has started playing Splinter Cell and Call of Duty.
Just by watching him, Call of Duty looks flustrating at first. The movements with the remote (and you can't use a cube controller, which I thought would be easier) are precise, but a little tedious if you arn't fdc (front dead center) to the sensor bar. I can't wait to try it.
Splinter Cell looks fun, but he nor I have played it enough to say quite yet.
I gotta say, I love WiiSports! It's a blast with a couple of people playing!
I also like the fact that you can get older titles. We just purchased ToeJamb and Earl (which my wife and I used to love to play back in the 16 bit days) and can't wait to start opening presents! Nintendo has been dropping titles in about every couple of days or so, so they are atleast consistant. The only draw back is the price. tj and e cost 800 points, so 8 bucks. I was willing to pay as it was a nastalga thing for us, but really a little high for someone who just wants to try it out.

Anyone download any retro games? I've downloaded Super mario brothers for the NES and Bomberman for Turbografx. Bomberman is awesome! You can play with up to 5 people! (4 remotes + 1 gamecube controller). Super Mario is good nostalgia, but gets kinda boring after about 20 minutes of playing.

Hey, I don't suppose you'd have an opinion for Red Steel? I've been fencing with both rapier and longsword / katana for a year and a half now, and I was wondering how realistic the swordplay was. I realize there will be some quirks, such as the player having to stop themselves when their weapon is blocked since Force Feedback can't quite stop the player's hand / sword when they are parried.

I've heard mixed things about the game, including Gamespot's 5.5 review, and was also wondering about the game as a whole. I really wanna try it, but unfortunately between my friends and I we have just about every console except for the PS3 and Wii.

If Tom has 5 Apples and Suzie has 7 apples, how tall is Matt? (There is a real answer to this question)

I read IGN for game reviews. They seem to be right on the money (most of the time).

Well, this isn't exactly for the Wii, but I just beat Zelda: Twilight Princess on the gamecube (heard it's the same on the Wii, just mirrored) and it is possibly my favorite console game I've ever played. The story is incredible as are the massive dungeons. I highly recommend this game Wii or Gamecube. Took me a little over 40 hours to beat it and I enjoyed every minute of it. I could not find one thing wrong with this game, maybe it's too good hmmmm....

I'll prolly get a chance here soon to play it on the cube, so I might be able to give it a nice comparison sort of thing. The game itself is still amazing though. My only real complaint is how linear the majority of the dungeons where. Now most of the Zelda dungeons have always been pretty linear, but I guess there was just more importance on key-management and navigating to get to certain rooms in an order. With TP you never really ever had more then 1 key, and the dungeons all were pretty much run throughs.

The only thing I didn't like about Twilight Princess was how EASY it was. Nintendo really needs to learn how to add a hard mode.

Then again you could always go through without collecting any heart contaners

One thing I'm amazed with is the mechanism that can load those tiny gamecube discs anywhere on the slot-loading drive. I've had quite a few computers with slot-loading drives so I have to fight my instincts to put a disc in.
