I have no desire to upset anyone with this, and I am definitely not trying to weaken the LW class, but.....
The two abilities Vampire and Regeneration are supposed to increase the player's health. However, when the player gets into a vehicle, instead of increasing the player's health, they increase the vehicle armor.
To me, this is a bug, since it doesn't do what it is supposed to do. So I say fix it so it always just applies to the player's health (assuming that is possible).
If we want to have the ability to regenerate vehicle armour, that should be a separate ability.
I am sure there are a variety of opinions on this - what's the general feeling?

I have seen this in action, and it does not seem to work well enough to be a real advantage (to my character). why spend the time to fix something that does not have that much effect on the game?

It perhaps has more of an effect than you think. When you run monsters over in a Manta, the Manta takes damage, but the Vampire repairs it. So the Manta keeps fully up to strength to take out the monster.
Without the Vampire repairing the Manta, the armor quickly goes down, and the Manta blows up.
I may be wrong. Can someone give me a comparison between LW+vampire against say a LA when using vehicles?

I rarely play ONS with my medic or LA because of this. Having the vamp ability for the vehicle is a big plus, but don't your DR, DB, etc. also apply to the vehicle you are in? If you take out the vamp ability for that you might as well take out all of that. But, if you do that vehicles would become quite useless in ONS maps. For the most part after wave 12 vechicles are going to be massacred even if you have vamp 10. If vamp/regen were to be taken away from vehicles I think the XP levels for ONS would definitly have to be returned to normal, but that is a different topic altogether.

It's as easy as this: when I try and use manta's, I hit one skaarj and it's down to critical health. When a LW player with with high levels of vamp uses a manta, they can run over queens, warlords, titans even; and still have full health. It is a huge advantage, but I'm not sure if it's specifically a bug. That would prolly be up to dru's desicion.

As a level 122 LW with vamp 5 that isn't true. If you get up a head of steam you can definitly waste warlords, but with queens and titans you will get wasted. Unless a titan or queen are down to a critical amount of health it is tempting fate to ram them with a manta. Also, they both need to be pancaked .

I am playing on a server that is using v200 and as a Medic with regen only my health suffers whilst the vehicle remains undamaged and if the vehicle DOES get damaged regen heals it?? I am a low level but due to ADR maxxed and with a balance of DB at 100 and DR at 500 I am invincible up until the last few waves, it is really strange.

I call shennanegans!
You *always* bounce off Queens and Titans. Attempting to run over a Queen or Titan is suicide. You might do a little damage from the collision but it's not like a clean sweep that you can do with a Warlord.

Plus, that's dependent on you getting clean hits. If you hit something with the side fans, you're vamping in the clear, but if you actually run over something with the Manta's body, the vehicle takes damage. That also counts grazes to the sides while running over things with the fans. So, plowing into agroup of enemies, even if you do go clean through them, will almost always get you blown up for that reason, vamp or no.

I will refrain from saying bug. What I will say is that it gives WM's a huge advantage on VINV maps.

I agree. I think it's a bug.
I think the engineer might want a vehicle vamp skill that works the way it works now (while in a vehicle) though

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Now I could see that as a nice idea, and it makes much more sense with the weapon master being specialized for weapons but the engineer being specilized with vehicles.

Okay, I verified it, live on the server in v2.00. Regeneration does NOT work, Vampire does.
(I just wanted to see it for myself.)
Since I already did the rework on Vamp, I'll look to see if this can be fixed in one fell swoop.
