Unreal 3 demo & DisastrousConsequences.com

Testing out the UT3 server! Here's the infos:

Currently, the UT3 server isn't advertising. To open it, start the UT3 Beta Demo game (please don't do this from UT2004!), open a console (press the ` key)

open disastrousconsequences.com:7877

PS: Remember, Disaster and Disastrous are spelled differently. Thanks US English!

I played on the server last night, and everything worked well! Nice job!
Right now I can't connect for some reason. The console and server browser don't work, it just hangs at "connecting." Other servers work for me, so... the server bombed?

yup, it's bombed. I'll restart it. Right now there's no way to monitor it, and the bugs run amok.

If it makes you feel any better, I've been working on my current pc........catastropic os failure. Now I cannot download the demo since I went ahead and installed the X64 version of XP Pro and it's not quite working properly yet. Lost about 10GB of UT2004 and UT3 data, including all games and skins when the os went kaput..............

I don't have it nearly as bad as you. The worst thing I have to deal with is the program not understanding that 1024x768 means 1024x768... not 640x480! (the resolution resets every time the program opens)

When you get it back up and running the way you want, get yourself a external backup. Just picked up a World Book 320GB Premium Pro for $99 (that's everything including shipping) at NewEgg to backup me and the wifes PCs after her's crashed last month. They go up to 2TB, depending on how much you need to backup.

I just tried to log into the server, and it just sits there...going to try manual. Currently is VCTF if I got the right server. And where is the Faves? Do I have to search each time I want to join? Talk about a neutered demo.

EDIT: Well, it didnt work either. At the initial attempt, the server had 0 ping. After refresh after a failed manual, I did a refresh, and it went to 2500 ping. Something is a miss. THen, the game just closed, no message, no nothing, just back to desktop...weird.

I think it crashed again. I tried last night and got the same thing you did. We need a bat signal for Dru to reset the server

Go to your C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Games\ Unreal Tournament 3 Demo\UTGame\Config for your tweaks

The things used here are the default things I believe, and are used everytime upon start up....

After our done tweaking, or if you even did any, highlight the following 3 files:

UTEngine.ini
UTGame.ini
UTInput.ini

set them as "Read-Only". That prevents the game from overwritting what you have there. So, set the values and booleans to whatever you want them to be.
