If you want one of the HD players, Toshiba has the new HD-A20 out now which isn't too much now. Ummm, I think it is something like $399 and Sony will have their second gen blu-ray player out at the end of the summer which will go for around $499. Probably still too much, though.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. Blue Planet was really good so I think this one will be. I haven't heard anything bad about it. I wish I got BBC HD or Discovery HD here.

There is a little video window that tells a bit about the series. You can tell they put some effort into this series. There is a bunch of clips you can watch on the discovery channel website as well.

Wow, I'm surprised Chameleon didn't start this thread! I LOVED the Blue Planet DVD's. I've always liked watching nature shows about the ocean and there were some shots (Like in the Deep DVD) that even I hadn't seen before. It was amazing. Planet Earth is going to be awesome.

Finally got it in the mail today on blu-ray. It looks pretty darn cool. I watched one episode 'Pole to Pole'. The whole episode was great to watch, but the part showing the wild dogs hunting was really fun.
