Christmas was... odd... around here, what with what is going on between my wife and I. We went down to visit my step-daughters (30yo and 29yo, with two kids each) and their families on Friday. I got a pair of flannel jammy pants, currently being worn, a couple of T-shirts (one is a Ohio State shirt... WooHoo!), A friend of my wife's sent us gifts, and I got a lovely Ireland key ring from their family. My brother and sister-in-law unexpectedly brought us a gift box of Knot's Farm goodies for Hanukkah/Christmas (I included the former since they are Jewish). And I got two DVDs (My Super ex-Girlfriend, which I wanted to see when it was in the theatres but did not, and one of Crazy Frog videos), from my wife, and two hardcover books from my daughter. The first, Fortress of Ice by C.J. Cherryh, is the continuation of a series I love to read and re-read (and hence is being read now). The second, In Fury Born is by David Weber, and is set in his Honor Harrington universe.

My daughter got her PS/2 and Dance Dance Revolution mat, along with a Spiro game. We are still looking for the particular DDR game she wanted, and will get that when we find out which one that is. She also got a CD, a new game in the MIght and Magic series, a nice art kit, some nail polish goodies, some nice bath goodies and such. My brother and sister-in-law also got her one of the new furbies.

As for my wife, she got several books from my daughter, and a hardback Calvin and Hobbes and a DVD of Ladyhawke from me. But she refused to accept the gifts from me, which is why I had my daughter give her several of the books she ended up giving (and was mentioned at the time). I need to put together a friends-only blog entry on MySpace soon, and will put a bit more of the details there, but needless to say, it was not a good Christmas, but just OK.

Don't forget about Laina and Aussie's present to you.

I've been collecting those Saturday Night Live DVD's they've come out with now. Laina and Aussie got me the Best of Phil Hartman and the Best of Commercial Parodies.

I also got a gift card to B&N. I want to get A Christmas Carol by Dickens just to have it. Other than that, I'm going to have to browse!!

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!"

Sorry to hear that, Spacey. Hopefully it was a good Christmas for your daughter. Best of luck to you.

I have to add this: the best advice I have ever been given is that marriage is NOT about fifty-fifty as that's only half the effort... it's about 100-100 on both sides.

I got too many things to list. My honey spoiled me this year (our first together) as I did her. Just know it was one of my best ever. Hope everyone had comfort (southern or not) and joy.
