My feeling is shields aren't as valuable as health, so you shouldn't get xp for restoring. As such, the demand for the skill from engineers may not be great.

I'd like to point out that luck weapons spawn health too.
I'm not sure if luck health spawns give exp(i don't think they do) but i think it should be the same as that.
Shields also make titan rocks easier to survive.

Good point.
The main problem with giving xp is the tracking of how much damage was done by monsters and how much self inflicted. For the health this puts quite a loading on the server. I am not sure it is a good idea to put the same amount extra on for shields.
I suppose if we combined the health+shield damage tracking into one bit of code, then it may be worthwhile. Then whoever heals first (health or shields) gets the xp.
So, its possible. If Dru says yes, I will implement.

The other problem is knowing when someone's shield has been maxed.
With health you get a number showing how much health they have. When it stops going up, you know they have reached their limit. The MedicAwareness ability makes it easier to see.
We would probably need to create a new awareness skill to show shield level as well as health.
I would suggest that the skill does not have the +50,+100,+150 that the medic healing has, but instead just restores to the players max limit. This will be 150, unless the player has Shields Up.
