This is a great idea, and like you said, we should have started it this past spring!
Not into horror movies much, unless you are talking about some like the old Vincent Price/Hammer Studios pics (such as Dr. Phibes). Mostly Sci-Fi, Fantasy, with other things like spy flicks like Bond, movies like Ice Age, Toy Story, and such. Comedies as well. Then there are good "story" flicks, like Tombstone, The Cutting Edge, and such. And certain actors/actresses, or pairings definitely will catch my attention, particularly if it is a pairing which shows that something special, such as was seen between The Duke and Maureen O'Hara (The Quiet Man), Martin & Louis, and others. There have not been many pairings like that in recent years, but Pitt & Jolie may have it, if the Mr & Mrs Smith sequel is like the original, and I liked the pairing of Chan and Wilson in Shanghai Noon/Shanghai Nights/Around the World in 80 days.
Movies I saw this spring/summer and really liked: X3 (A++ must own), Ice Age 2 (must own), Pirates 2 (must own)
Movies I definitely want(ed) to see: UV, My Super ex-Girlfriend, Flyboys, The Guardian, Open Season, Casino Royale
Straight out: MI3 (Cannot stand Tom Cruise, only liked a few of his roles, like in Top Gun and The Last Samurai).
Movies were really picky this spring/summer given Dad's situation, so we only saw some of our must see list, and were not disappointed. And the above is just based on trailers/theme/plot, not just who is in the movie...that would add several others. BTW...thanks for the bit on Hollywoodland. It was one I was thinking about seeing because of the cast, but may wait for it to show on cable.

Not a review, but a movie is supposed to come out in December called Children of Men I love the plot! here's a trailer.
http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/childrenofmen/
Basically the world has fallen into chaos since all women became infertile, and there is one woman who is actually able to reproduce and they have to protect her, which is hard because everyone is crazy.

This is not a review either, but I came across a very cool fact on the net the other day. If any of you are DragonLance fans (I shall not even go into my own addiction to the original series of books and side books) you will be excited to know that they are making feature length film of the first book (Dragons of Autumn Twilight). Quite a few good actors are lined up for the voice overs. (Animated btw.) Here is the offical site: http://www.dragonlance-movie.com/

New movie: I'll say it's the movie with Jonnie Knoxville in it, and it's the second of the series. So the MTV show has a second movie and it was hilarious. If you liked or loved the first one you'll greatly enjoy this one. It has its gross and disgusting parts like the first, but much more enjoyable skits. I greatly enjoyed the movie, and it's odd that Yahoo rated it so well... it's one of the higher ratings I've seen in some time. Definately worth seeing if you liked the first, you won't be disapointed. 8.5/10

Yes, I saw The Ring...it wasn't as scary as I was hoping it would be...more of a mystery type to me. I didn't watch The Ring 2...so can't say if that was any better or worse than the first.

Ok, next movie on my list was Saw II. The first was definately worth seeing the second, but I have to say I was a bit let down. The movie differed from the first, but generally the same idea which was fine. I found the story a bit less interesting than the first and some scenes were a little more brutal for my taste, the needles almost made me quit. The ending was good, but still less as a shock as the first... (maybe nothing can compare to the first's ending.) Overall it was good, but not great like the first. I will wait to see Saw III, probably once it's out on DVD so I can turn down the volume at the rough scenes (I'm a wimp, i know lol), so 6.5/10. It just can't stack up to the first with Danny Glover in it, although Mark Walburg was pretty good in the second.

I didn't know that. *whines* Now I'm going to have to watch it. The needles didn't bother me too much in that movie, but the part that got to me was where the girl stuck her hands up through the glass box.....ew.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!"

ok, don't remind me, cause both those scenes gave me the creeps... but the needle one was rough, oddly enough I felt so much pressure on my back while watching that, I felt like I was getting ready to be poked by that many needles... not fun at all. The glass was rough and the fire scene doesn't compare to Silent Hill's one, that was awful! You two are scaring me more than the movie...

lol......u guys can't stand too much gore??......so far, i've never been grossed out by movies like saw, texas chainsaw massacre or the hostel........cmon, the blood looks like v8 most of the time......of course, they make it a bit realistic by making the surroundings darker and stuff but still it's obvious dat its fake.....at least to me .........i know the scenes u guys are talking about but they're not rly all dat gory.......its a bunch of needles making some lady a human porcupine and a bald guy getting incinerated inside dat thing but they're rly nothin.......so far, gory movies don't give me the creeps but stuff like the exorcist 1 and 2, exorcism of emily rose, or any movie having to do with satan gives me nightmares lol.........dat can be attributed to me being brought up as a christian lol......but now i don't go to church anymore and i'm a bit nihilistic so maybe its just guilt.....heheheheh
and btw its not mark wahlberg on the saw 2.....i think, its his brother
