Boingo's Weapon Problem

The last couple times I've played, sometimes when I spawn none of my weapons show. It says I pick them up, as well as ammo and I can see the aimer in the middle of the screen. But when I switch to it the box it should be in is blank. One night all it said was DruidsRPG Weapon (I think). I also don't get the assault, shield or translocator.

It happened twice tonight and when I restarted the game, it worked fine. It doesn't work if I die and respawn; same thing happens. No weapons. I just went into the cache and deleted a file starting with '757'. But I have no idea if that has anything to do with this problem.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

the only problem i have had is i cant pick up any ammo for the Assault Rifle, gets kinda annoying but thats all the prob. i have had with it.

My thing is whenever i change weapons, it doesn't say what the weapon is. I mean, I know which weapon is which, but it doesn't say what it is. It is especially annoying when playing invasion because I never know if the weapon I'm holding is a magic weapon (except for the weapon color, purple for sturdy etc). I have to press the ~ key to check in the console for it.

That is possibly a problem with having joined a TCC server in the past.

That happened to me after joining a server that used TCC and there is a setting in your User.ini file

[XInterface.HudBase]
bHideWeaponName=False

Make sure it still says False.

there's also some form of bug with 3339 where the netcode is accepting invalid UT2004RPG packages. It was only a problem if you signed in while the server was on the RPG betas though.

I'm so clueless. Was there a time when the server was on the RPG betas? Then I can figure out if I signed on then. Or is there something I should look at in the UT2004 file?

It's possible. The way to fix it is to delete any files starting with 757 in your cache.

If that still doesn't fix it you could delete all the files in your cache and see if that fixes it...

Well I did what vortex said and it worked out perfectly. Thanks.

All righty. My weapons went crazy again tonight! Long story short, Shan figured out I'm an idiot! Hats off to her. I owe her rice krispies or something.

Anywho, with the help of JaggedMarble I downloaded the UT patch 3339. Dru mentioned a bug with it, but Jagged said it should (hopefully) work ok. I also looked in my cache and those pesky little 757 files kept popping up. Which I keep deleting.

I was also going to do what Vortex suggested, but the only server I've joined is DC. And it's the only one Hobo is supposed to join too. I've told him this is the best server there is, so I doubt he's gotten on to others.

So yeah, we'll see what happens! Dun dun dunnnn....thanks for the help everyone!

UT2004RPG doesn't work right if you're not running one of the latest patches.

yeah, Boingo made sure that this was the only server I get on..and now that I've played on it, I don't want to play on any other because I can guarantee that it won't be any good compared to this one. The rules are great and the people greater
