Getting your microphone to work on UT

Many people have the problem of their mic. not working in-game. I have started this topic to (hopefully) clarify the situation. It is set up in steps so follow them in this order:

Install the microphone/ headset (consult its manual for instructions)
Install any necessary drivers (consult its manual for instructions)
Test the mic in Windows Recorder
-Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder
-Click the big red button and talk to see if it is recognized by Windows
Start up UT
Click on Settings
Click on the Audio tab at the top of the screen
Enable Voice Chat
Click Configure
Enable Autojoin Public Channel
Enable Autojoin Team Channel
Enable Auto-select Acive Channel
Set Internet Quality to Better Quality
Click on Input tab
Click on Configure Controls
Assign a button (usually "F") to Activate Microphone
Back out and join the server
Press and hold the assigned key and talk
-If you see a litte thing on your screen that says [Team] or [Public] and a little bar that notes how loud you are then it works.
