I have a microphone, it's actually a Socom 2 headset.. I'm not sure if anyone uses that though. I can hear great through it, but am not able to talk. I've tried pressing the "F" button and it has a team icon pop up, but nobody hears me. I also tried setting my voice chat to a different button but that did not work either. I've had this question for some time, but haven't found the answer yet, I have looked at the manual but that didn't help me. So now I'm hoping someone can help me with this to talk amongst friends.

is there a push to talk button on the mic itself? also configure your mic in windows to make sure it is working and set up right. double click on the speaker in your systray, then click on options, then click on properties, then select recording, make sure the box by microphone is checked and press ok.
now put a check in the box under your microphone slider that says select, then put a check in the box by microphone boost 20db, click close, then move the mic slider to halfway. you also need to make sure your mic plug is actually plugged into the right jack. if that doesnt work a little standalone mic costs like five bucks and they work like a dream.

Thanks a lot for the info... It doesn't have a button on it to speak, but I did find the recording part in the settings, so now I changed all the settings to be put on the headset. I'll test this out tomorrow, but I think it may work now. Thanks for your help!!!
