To be honest, I do not know. I've always loaded a fresh copy. However, I do know that you can copy and paste sections of the user.ini.

Get the DC Invasion program HERE.
I use the custom character skin "Arkos." Get it HERE.
If you want your own custom skin (and you have played at least 3 months on the DC server), post a new thread on the forums containing your request. (As of June 2013) |

So... I would be able to copy the .ini onto a flashdrive and paste it?
(I have tried to install UT on my laptop only to get to find that I am missing my play disc - Would this solve my problem?)

Republic Scouts have found the location of the monster house. Apparently the monsters teamed up with the droids and come together to attack us. So the Republic and DC has teamed up to fight them!!! |

Yep. You replace the User.ini that UT 2004 gives you with the one on your flash drive. Also, if you mess up your User.ini, you can copy from the Default.ini file and paste it in place of User.ini.

You can load the same CD/CDkey on sucessive computers without a problem. However, you cannot have two or more folks playing on the same CD/CD key.

Could you concretize this please? Will I be able to play my own characters on another computer (I'm going to move from time to time from my main PC to Notebook). I anderstand, that 2 and more characters with same CD-key can't connect to server in one moment of time, but can I connect in different moments?

I play regularly with my brother on Monster Evolution server and we use same cd-key.
I have my UT04 installed on three computers... my main computer, the one which I bought for my brother and one that is in my grandmother's apartment. I can sucessfuly join anywhere from any of those computers.
We sometimes even play on DisastrousConsequences server and it works fine.
But it gets worse with those games that use stupid drm which punish only honest buyers :/
Like my Warcraft3 which allow you to connect only from one computer to their battle.net service. At least there is still LAN mode in that game.
And You should be able to connect to Source engine games' servers by simple trick that you run the game on a first computer in steam offline mode and then you run it in online mode on second computer. Then you just use console command to join server of your choice by its ip address, but I have not tested it yet.
