In the 44 years I have lived in Colorado, I cannot think of any year this bad in terms of forest fires. Colorado now has ten fires burning right now and something like 18 for the year. Attached is a map of the fires currently burning.

Just between 2 fires this past week, 600 homes burned (none of them cheap) and 2 confirmed dead.
