Yet Another Character Skin: Jragon

New Character: Jragon

I am currently using this skin as my own...though anyone's welcome to use it too.

It is currently version 2.0. Those who had downloaded version 1.0 will be pleasantly suprised (maybe) by the higher quality texture of the newer version.

Whatcha have in mind?

Hooded wizard (no or minimal face), white or grey full lenght robe, with magic staff and sword strapped to back. Figure will glide along, no noticable footsteps.

I can do all but the gliding part. The only way I could do that is to make full custom animations AND a custom rig for it . . . but that would take a long, long time. Another way to do it would be to change only specific animations. This is something I don't know how to do, but I'm sure Jefe or Roadkill might be able to accomplish that.

Would you like a version that does not have a gliding animation? (Ask the other modellers about the animating part if you get the chance).

LOL, I was wishing for the moon. Can you imagine that hooded character stalking a krall or warlord, hehe.

The professor model from Futurama is "glider" model. Completely custom, yes...and very well done.

I haven't done any of this yet, but if you made the legs transparent, would it actually be invisible, like the outer boarders of a map where they didn't apply any mapping to. Just a thought.

What do you mean about legs and transparency Flak?

I looked at Farnsworth's animations and bones. It's a no-go because you're character would have to be sitting in a chair.

Hey Demon, I can still make you're character with normal animations from the default characters if you'd like. I can post a new thread and post concept art on it.

I may be wrong in thinking this, but if you do not apply any skin maping to the model's legs, it would be transparent? Thinking back to my 3D Studio days, I would think it would default to a grey or something perhaps. Anyway, you have borders around a map where you cannot cross, even though the map may continue. I do not know what defines this boarder. I though it would be a solid model with no graphic mapping, making it transparent. But I never went far in making maps, so I'm speculating here.

Are you saying to attach/rig Demon's character to the chair part of Farnsworth?

wow very nice skin...looks much like the skin I always wanted. I wanted an Illidan skin from Warcraft III, not sure if you guys know what he looks like, but the idea is the same except he has horns sticking out of his head and the same type of bat wings; overall very similar. The only main difference is that the Illidan character left footprints of fire everywhere he stepped

Version 2 is up through the same download above. Download at your leisure. The texture is greatly improved, there is a concept art portrait, and there was a fix with the goggles having the wrong normals (faces that were "facing" the wrong way).
