The last 15 years or so of her life were, as I would describe, tragic. She had nothing but emotional, drug addiction, and personal problems which ultimately ended in tragedy.

She is an example of an extremely talented person who became enraveled in a miriad of personal issues which resulted in her premature death.

I cannot begin to fathom the toll that fame and fortune takes on a person, let alone having it all unfold in such a public way. All I can think of is, what a shame.

She would put 90 percent of modern "talent" to shame in the sheer natural ability department. Her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner during the Super Bowl will never be matched. The world has lost another talented human being who deserved better.

RIP Whitney.
