Flak Monkey off for a while (again)

A week ago Sturday, my hard drive developed a "read error" and wont boot. So I'm dead in the water yet again. I have to wait till at least next payday to get it fixed. Feeling like any lesser drive will not do, another Raptor will replace this one. Either a 150GB or 300GB (for just $30 more) But the budet is tight...we shall see. My car needs fixing (at least 2 new tires and an oil change). Had the alignment done a few weeks ago, now to repair the damage it caused.
So, I'm stuck on my wife's computer for the time being, not able to do much of anything, just surf and pay bills on th accounts that I can remember how to log into

So, yet another way for me to relax has been taken away from me. The bars, my bike, now my computer.....beer is all I got left....and that's only every other weekend.

I hate to see how many emails I have in my box right now after 9 days. Will be a lot more wen I finally get it back up and running. I will see if I can manage them by loging into the ISP and doing the web mail thing.

Well, I finally got the money together to replace the HD. Got a new WD VelociRaptor 300GB on order. Many Bothans died to get me this HD...

Still dont have the car fixed, nor the bike registered and battery gotten.

The op went well, but she is in a lot of post-op pain. Been home the last 3 days for this.. Hope she will be well enough for me to go to work on Monday. This has been in the works for months. Now that it's done, I hope it was worth it...she more than I, believe me. She refused this option for years....but after the trial, she felt it could actually help her.

Anyway, i hope to be back up and operational in the next week...so hope to join the frey next weekend.

Well, she lives! And an good thing too, the old drive wasn't totally shot. Just the boot record or something. But the file system was in tact and was able to pull all the current stuff off of it, minus some emails, but images and web page stuff changed since last back up has been restored. Will hold onto the old drive until I'm satisfied that I don't need anything off of it. If I can just re-format it, may make it a slave drive and retire the 40GB Caviar I have instead.

Wife is recovering well from her surgery. Tuesday we get her stitches out. GOod thing too cuz they are itching her like mad.

Wont be playing today, but will probably have a better chance tomorrow as today's restore took up all my spare time.
