A long time ago I was playing in a RPG server which had an interesting mod, and It was a Quest system which gives you some activities to do while fighting monsters like:
Quest 1
Kill 25 pupaes get 100 xp
Kill 12 red gnats get 200 xp
Extreme Quests for High lv players
Kill 25 Warlords get 300 xp
Kill 13 Titans get 400 xp
I was enjoying too much doing those quests XD

I had the same idea quite a few months ago...but then school hit and then other things filled my mind. But I still think thats one heck of an idea that deserves discussion, just hope szlat sees it before it gets lost in the forums.

I'm always trying for a "BINGO"
certain maps are very difficult to complete Bingos

A slight variation of the idea would be to have "how many of that type in a row"
So kill a pupae - get no additional bonus
If your next kill is a pupae - get a 2 kill bonus
If the next kill is also a pupae - get a 3 kill bonus
If the next kill is also a pupae - get a 4 kill bonus
If the next kill is a krall - get no additional bonus - reset now onto killing kralls
If the next kill is a krall - get a 2 kill bonus
..and so on
Most players operate on a kill everything in sight basis. So having the quest just based on total numbers won't really change playing style - everyone will still be going for every kill. Also, we have to think what sort of visual feedback players want on the HUD - you will need a count for each monster type you are killing, plus some indication of when the next bonus point is - since it will be different for different monsters.
By making it kills in a row, you will be tempted to leave a monster alive next to you to aim for the far one of the type you want. Increased risk for increased benefit.
Also, on the HUD you just need data about the current Monster type, so much simpler.

Most games nowadays come with preset challenges or trophies(ps3) one must complete throughout the game, some give xp and others just make you look good. So by killing a certain number of monsters of a designated species should give you an xp reward, but why not all the challenges reset after each level or every second level or etc . . . There can be different challenges as well, it would not have to be just focused on monsters. For example, say you are the last one alive on a wave and you manage to beat the wave by yourself, then there should be a small compensation of xp for the first time you do it and no more rewarding xp every succeeding time you do it, until you level again and then it gets reset. And perhaps a slight bigger amount of xp if you are the last one on wave 16 and manage to beat it.
p.s. Look at the Call of Duty challenge system.

And If its possible make it to look good too.
For example:
If someone Kills 40 monsters with shieldgun in a row, how about putting a message on all players screen on the top that says:
"Player is a Shield Gun addict"
And the he gets like 100 xp just like the Combo master bonus but the Message will appear on the screen just like when you kill a player.

Some ideas:
Kill Specific type of Monster X
Kill Any # Monsters Using X Weapon/Artifact.
Defeat Unique Monster Spawned in via acceptance of Quest (Team Quest, or maybe make it Solo by making the Unique Monster invulnerable to everyone except the Quest owner)
Pick up X items dropped by [any/specific] monsters
Pick up X items randomly spawned in the level
[Return items to "Quest Giver" NPC/Location]
Heal X amount of health on allied players
Heal X amount of shield on allied players/vehicles
Protect Unique Monster Ally for X Seconds until it can summon an escape portal for itself.
Energize Unique Monster Ally by using (Healing Sphere | Damage Sphere | Invulnerability Sphere | Lightning Rod | etc.) on it for X seconds or Y times total, so that it can summon an escape portal for itself.

Nope
I think this is a bad idea. There are already "quests" in game such as, Flak Monkey, First blood, Head shots, Head hunter, Combo "master", Road kill, and Bingo. Not to mention Killing Spree on up to Wicked Sick and kill combos (Double Kill, Monster Kill, etc).
Xp can be gotten in a myriad of ways already and I do not think that this "quest system" is necessary.

My main idea is not to get insane XP , is just to get more fun and get busy at doing something new in game, we need something new to get occupied at.
Well putting this mod will not hurt anyone, thats my point of view.
By the way Will be actually a good idea to give an extra quest each week and can be added by the admin like Demoneer " like a special quest of the week " Just to make the server interesting everyday

I would be interested in an achievement system even aside from UT2004RPG/DruidsRPG.
UT3 with Steam has some interesting achievements. Granted, I never really got many of them because UT3 was kind of a letdown for me in many ways, but achievements can make the gameplay fun by giving you something to do that's different instead of "optimal."
There's a mutator for UT2004 based on one of the achievements for UT3 - The achievement for UT3 involves picking up all the items in every stock level (e.g. Get alll the health, ammo, shields, weapons, etc.) The UT2004 mutator tracks this on a per-map basis, although I believe it works for any map and may have some kind of preset maplist challenges.
The one thing that I'd really like to see with the achievements though is some kind of persistence/tracking. That's kind of tricky, and would seem to require a system much like UT2004RPG's character/profile tracking.
That and making a bunch of cool icons to pop up for each achievement, while seemingly kind of trivial, adds to the coolness factor a lot for me.

My thought is that at best a quest system, at least where it consists of killing X monsters in a row, or X kills in a certain way in a row, will at best cause some minor bickering and will be done occasionally.
One reason is that there is a finite number of monsters of each type - if everyone has access to the same quests, such as kill 15 krall in a row, you're going to have people 'call them.' This happens sometimes already on waves with Nali because of the headhunter bonus. But ultimately quests will be largely ignored, unless they're optimal in terms of xp.
Another option is having players randomly assigned a quest or set of quests at the beginning of a match. This would somewhat eliminate people going for the easiest or best monster quest, or bickering over who gets to kill which type of monster. Even then it's highly unlikely that all quests could be 'equal' - there will always be one that is slightly easier and more optimal, and this would be highly dependent on wave configuration. It would remove the equal playing field that we enjoy now. Just imagine the comments on high scores. "You had the skaarj quest, so of course you got 500 xp more than everyone."
Weapon-based or collection quests are fair bit more neutral. Shield gun kills, that sort of thing are harder to do, so I think it would work better, are are much more in line with the current bonuses.
And Szlat, good to see you back.

It would be interesting to have the monster difficulty fluctuate every wave (change from Experienced to Low to Masterful every wave)
But if you think people need little instant satisfaction items like achievements to keep your interest then by all means.
Implementation or not I have to agree with Jefe here, if its monster based people will farm the monsters. If its weapon based however people will start to use weapons the don't normally which makes them learn and causes many more deaths, which is a good thing (I think the current server set up is too easy to win maps).
