Alice and the Hatter: Quotes: Alice in Wonderland
Alice: What a funny watch! It tells the day of the month, and it doesn't tell what o'clock it is!
The Hatter: Why should it? Does your watch tell you what year it is?
Alice: Of course not, but that's because it stays the same year for such a long time together.
The Hatter: …which is just the case with mine.

well i cant tell.. due the slow walking of the server i unistalled ut2k4, so i cant tell you for sure, but on dungeons and dragons it works perfectly the deep and other factors can be twisted in order to better perfomance.. for me works perfect in ddo i twisted so i can see my hp and other stuff in "1st plane" while other stuff is 3d
btw trooper could you give me an idea of what this webpages says?
http://individual.utoronto.ca/iizuka/research/cellophane.htm
i think its talking about cellophane and using 1 layer to create 3d displays ..
give me a hit pls

ok so far I only read the abstract. basicly what its saying is this:
the light coming out of a screen of that type is polarized. this means the waves in the light are only in one orientation. picture a normal "beam" of light to be like a *. the wave has a vertical, horizontal, and multiple diagonal components, theoretically infinite. thats pure, unpolarized light. Polarized light is the same "beam" filtered so only one orientation comes out. making a * of light into - or | or \ or / is polarization.
the part about changing the direction of polarized light... I'm unsure which they mean by the abstract. one interpretation is that they move it to the side, offsetting the image. I think they mean turning the polarized light around its axis (ie making | into - by twisting it). So half the image would come out like - and the other half like |.
polarized glasses are common and cheep. the idea there being that it filters out most of reflected light. when light bounces off a surface (water for example) it polarizes in the direction of the bounce. light bouncing off a smooth pond would come off like - while light bouncing sideways off a window would be | do to the orientation of the surface. think about throwing a piece of paper at a set of window blinds (assuming you could make it fly straight). only the pieces of paper oriented in the same direction can get through. even slight angles are blocked. this reduces the glare by minimizing reflected light.
what they propose to do is have the screen show a image, bend some of the image polarization so half if | and half is -, then see it through glasses where one eye is - and one is |, thus splitting the image so only one eye sees it. problem with this idea (without reading the entire article) is that you need to be looking at it perfectly straight. even a slight angle of your head relative to the screen and the entire image will grow dark and/or overlap

now as I under stand even the new 3D flat screen tv's coming out you still need glasses to view the 3D content which is interesting since the movie coraline has a standard version and a supposedly 3D version on the flip side of the disk and the case said to play it on a HD tv and in a fairly dark room and allow your eyes to adjust to the picture and you'd get a more 3D experience from it. I don't know I didn't try to watch it before returning it to the rental store.
