I remember seeing that. With the age of mulit-core procs, why have 2 sockets? I know, 8 better than 4.... Well....6 cores are on their way already. Defiantly restricted on the OS you run to handle that many cores and that much memory.

Oh man, the cost alone will keep a lot of folks away, let's see, $1k each for the processors, $2K for the video cards, another $1k for the ram (24gbs!!!!!), and the mobo will probably run somewhere around $600.00 to $800.00 so we're looking at close to $5k just for mobo components but what power--12 cores, 24 threads oc'd to 4ghz+!!!!!!!! gonna set records.

Definitely gonna need liquid cooling and a BIG case. The normal 10 slot full tower case may not work and the power supply........

In my current planning, I have an Ultra X4 1600w for the power supply and I calculate that I will have 200 watts left in reserve. No way any 1600w is gonna power that motherboad.
