Snow anyone??

We got just a little bit here... Pittsburgh International reported 18.7" this morning with more coming down, and they are still closed last I checked this past hour. I have not been outside yet to measure things here, but we have a number of folks saying we got just short of 2' (yep feet) of very wet snow in this part of Da'Burgh.

I still have not thought about digging the van out... kinda pointless given the shape of the lane... but tomorrow, I guess I have to... ick.

The worst part... they are forecasting a mix on Tue/Wed which could drop another 6" along with some ice on Da'Burgh.

Well Spacey, it looks like you sent some west. We now have about 8-10" since about noon yesterday the 7th.

We're still getting hit with snow in Billings, MT. lol. Course here I don't think it goes away till after spring.

well im so sad, this year not a single sign of snow.. just cold and cloudy but not snow, even towns and citys arrounds my place got heavy snow.. but not here.. argh it makes me mad!

I would give it to those of you out west if I could. We have been talking about marking it as "return to sender" as if it were a misdelivered package, but it all comes from frustration at not having things get back to normal as quickly as we would like. The school district we live in has a habit of never closing, just doing 2 hour delays, and yet 3 out of 4 days this week, we have known by midday the prior day that school would be closed. Today was the exception, when we found out at 5:30am, thanks to a phone call from the automated district system. But we got the call about being closed tomorrow about 4pm today. At least we saw a snow plow (a pickup truck for the township with a blade on it) come down our lane, and then back all the way up our little 250ft lane which we live at the end of.

BTW... take a look at this video... it talks about a local custom which even has an entry on Wikipedia...

Just for the record--with the weather in the deep south, it went down as a record for the US with measurable snow in 49 of the 50 states. Guess what state was the lone holdout?

but don't they got a volcano high enough for snow?
