DEMONSLAYER IS MISSING

As many of you know, I've not been playing very much lately and may not play much for a while longer. I've been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and am trying to get that under control so that I have more energy and zip to do things I enjoy.

Currently, I have extreme fatigue, body itch, eye-sight problems, and other diabetes complications that need to be addressed before I can resume anything akin to a "normal" lifestyle. Most of the problems I am having are reactions to the medicines I now have to take along with dusting off the treadmill. Have patience, I'll be back to torture folks in the near future.

BTW, I still watch the maps like a good little admin should. Hehe.

Diabetes is nasty,I work in a pharmacy and see it all day.
Don't forget to adjust your diet ,or all the other work you do is for not.
The good news is that it is very common and there are many drugs old and new that can help you.
The hard part is finding the right combination, Stay well ,we miss you.

don't breath too much of that treadmill dust!...THATS deadly stuff!

now a treadmill is hard on the joints get a eliptical (less joint impact but still some) or a Exercycle IE stationary bike of some type..good aerobic exercise and way less impact/jarring of the joints which can cause more health probs!

BUT by ALL means take care of your self and come back and join us when you can

My brother I am in the same boat! I just found out the week after Christmas and have been trying to adjust ever since. My aic (I think that is the right acronym) was a little over 11%, daily average over 300. Changing the diet drastically, just saw the dietitian last week, and exercise , exercise, exercise! My meds are so so, for right now 1000 mg per day of Metformin. Will end up increasing probably to 2000 as my numbers have only dropped to about 230 fasting. But, with diet and exercise the past few days, fasting has been around 173 or so. Don't get down my friend, it's a fight we can win!
Be careful and make sure you regulate your eating habit as much as what you eat. I have to eat 5 times per day. (breafast, mid-morning snack of fruit or v8 or some such, lunch, mid afternoon snack, dinner.) Oh and hydrate often! last week I ended up passing out at work as my sugar dropped out quickly and I had become a little dehydrated into the bargin because of cutting out the sweets (soda) without compensating with water. Walking along and started to list to port, so I sat down in a snowbank, the next thing I know I wake up with a face full of snow. Long story short, I got home and ate a little and drank and felt much better in a very few minutes.

Hang in there Demon and Em, I have a couple family members with it as well. Hope you start feeling better.

Take care of yourself. Diabetes runs in my family as well. My dad got it late in life, but still got it. And if I don't change things with myself soon, I will be doomed with the same fate.
Eat right, exercise and it will be managed.

dont worry my mother and her grand mother have diabetes, so i have lived with a diabetes menu all mmy life ( yea i do eat sugar since i dont that problem ) but dont worry it isnt that bad just keep your selfwell!

Sorry to hear the bad news Demon and Em. Hope you get it under control quickly and there aren't any complications.

Demon and Eme, I'm sorry to hear of this! But to be positive, you could have been diagnosed with something worse than what you have, so I'm glad its not as bad as it could be.

But its a pain to give up all the goodies, isn't it?

Well, 2 weeks have past since I tested at 204 blood sugar level and 1 week since I went on the metformin. The blood test this morning was so much better at 139--still 40 points high but better. Still tired but sleeping much better than before.
