Take lots of pictures and video - and keep doing that. First day of school every year... etc... even if he doesn't want you to. Stand firm on that.

There is an ulterior motive for doing it: when they are teenagers, you have to have some evidence that you loved this person at some point in their lives. This gives you hope for a few years and if we are lucky they come out of it as people we like again
