Ive tried many times the turret ball and Its really weak, the minigun turret deals more damage and its more accurate than the ball one, how did I find out? Easly, first when u try to kill near enemies that are hitting you in a melee mode like pupaes, kralls with their staff or skaarjs with their hand blades, you cant shoot them at a short distance couse the turret fire balls seems to disappear on the ground and they miss the target, when u spawn the turret near objets like blocks or field stuff like trees, rocks, etc and you start shooting to enemies the accuracy of the fire is kinda messed up couse the fire starts to disappear again with these objects and it looks like you are shooting nothing. The only worthy and powerful turret is the Energy one, that thing has a nice accuracy, High lv players will never spawn a turret ball couse not only is the glitch thing about fire disappearing, its firing speed is slower than energy turret, the speed of the plasma fire balls is slow compared with the energy turret fire too, It is really complicated to spawn it in close areas.
IS there anyway u can fix the turret ball couse you need high lv skills and points to summon it just like if it was a nice turret, but its not.
Fixing its glitch about firing near objects or enemies,increasing speed fire rate time and travel speed in plasma shots, and resized the ball turret to make it smaller so we can spawn it everywhere without a spawn problem?
What would help us too a lot, if you can make the turret ball to be spawnable on walls, roofs, it would be more helpful and stronger than the other turrets.

The ball turret has more hp and does more damage.
I usually find the energy turret to accuracy problems when spawned near walls.

well we could just bring back the Link turret (NOT!)
the ball turret has LOTS more hp ,and when linked and protected properly can do lots of damage
my engi high score was me ,ghost ,3 def sents and the ball turret
You have to vary your techniques of placement and protection with each turret to make them effective

Actually the extra damage the ball turret does is quite ineffective in the long run if you cant shoot the monsters accurately... furthermore the energy turret while linked by 5 people can and will surpass in kills the ball turret if it was also linked by 5 people mainly due cuz of the time it takes for the plasma to reach the target. Also the extra hp in a way is unnecessary since defense sentinels can easily protect both turrets making around 200 hp difference meaningless between the turrets. Besides the energy turret shoots instantaneously, so I can see what Ryuxen is talking about.
As for the link turret, I was talking with druid some time ago and I do remember that he wanted it to be put back into the game... but just with a fix or a modified version of it. That was his plan but I do not know how he wants to go about it, like with what type of fixes, that would be for him to decide.

Concur. I've tried both and the energy turret is much faster with kills. The only advantage with the ball turret is on the two waves of titans and that's a minimal edge.

Yeah thats what I mean, At the end Energy Turret Is more effective between all turrets, cost less than the turret ball and is faster, My opinion is the turret ball needs to get an improvement if is gonna be a superior turret type.

maybe too weak yes and with its size you need the extra HP cause it does get hit more
EDIT actually the energy turret might be a little over powered ;high accuracy ,high rate of fire
maybe we could switch the two around make the energy turret the last turret to get

I still think there should be a cap on the number of linkers.
Slow down the energy turret fire to be comparable to the rate the shock gun fires.

you are suggesting to further nerf the engineer class beyond what already has been taken away... the speed in the link gun was reduced and now the energy turret too?
Actually i believe the energy turret is just fine the way it is... it is the ball turret that has a problem

isnt easier if the plasma balls travel faster ? i know because i have read some szlat posts that ball turret deals a little more damage, so maybe the problem is just the traveling speed (or we can have more speed and more damage)

I wasnt talking about to nerf the energy Turret, It just fine the way it is, My point is why to spend so many points in a ball turret that is underpowered and has many glitches at firing?, I can deal more damage with minigun turrets than the ball one, I just wanted and adjustment on the ball turret not to Nerf the linking between players and energy turrets or nerfing the Energy turret itself, I was asking for an improvement, I had enough with the new nerf to the engineer primary fire link gun, we dont need more nerfs on engineer

The main thing I like about the ball turret is that it's easier to zoom than the energy turret.. none of that right click nonsense. I find the ball turret very useful when its necessary to scan a wide field of view. I'd be very happy if the energy turret used the same method (w and s to zoom in and out.)
I agree that the energy turret is probably too powerful to be available before the ball turret.
