this will help mostly low level characters or begginers. while high level characters wont be that helpful

so

DR = .5% per point
HB = 2HP per point

means

in one level you get either

DR = .5% * 7 = 3.5%
HB = 2HP* 7 = 14 HP

now, lets compare them

if you have 100 HP and you advance one level ( means 7 Skill points) you have 2 choices

1) spend 7 points on HP means

Total health = 114

2) spend 7 points on DR means
3.5% / 100 = .035
.035*100 = 3.5

Total health = 103.5

--------------------------------------------------------------------
now of course the DR is a variable and depends on HP, in other words the higher your HP the more DR worth

so lets say you have 286 HP ( one level to max HP, the question the whats better max the HP or put 7 points in DR

here are the choices

1) spend 7 points on HP means

Total health = 300

2) spend 7 points on DR means
3.5% / 100 = .035
.035*286 = 10.01

Total health = 296.01

now you might wonder, what are the values you need for DR being the same as HP bonus

answer 400

which means. if you are a high level and you have a medic with exp healing maxed and a maxed HP each point gives you more Effective HP. however at all instances you must spend first in HP, and you will be more likely to survive

Alice and the Hatter: Quotes: Alice in Wonderland
Alice: What a funny watch! It tells the day of the month, and it doesn't tell what o'clock it is!
The Hatter: Why should it? Does your watch tell you what year it is?
Alice: Of course not, but that's because it stays the same year for such a long time together.
The Hatter: …which is just the case with mine.

Ok I'm not sure your figuring this out correctly, you actually are but it depends on how they work decimal places with damage.

Lets use 3% damage reduction (it's easier)

For instance if they hit you for 100 points of damage you will take 97.
If they hit for 10 points of damage 10 times you shoudl take 97 as well,
However this might not be correct. Do they keep the health score in float or integer? If it's an integer then you will actually only be taking 90 after all 10 hit you. It also depends on how they round. if they round up on a decimal than it euqals out again in the end up DR is doing nothing for you agains relatively weak oppenonts.

I would think they have to keep everything in a float, but it's an interesting though.
