The retaliation ability is designed so it will damage the attacker so they go down to one health, but not kill them.
However, if you have a DD, then the amount of damage gets doubled, so can result in the attacker being killed.
This cannot easily be prevented, so I was going to add code to collect the stats about how many retaliation kills a player has on the F3 screen.
However, I wondered why retaliation should not kill things? Even CounterShove can kill. So why stop it?

It is mostly the high levels that have retaliation, and these typically will also have countershove. So when the health gets left at one by retaliation, countershove will normally finish them off anyway.

i hate conntershove.. and it does killme, even when im 50+ hp... typical it trow me the whole map.

I think the idea is that [in PvP gametypes] it's incredibly annoying to get killed by someone by killing them. Literally dying just because you're fighting back would make playing at all seem pretty pointless.
I would say Retaliation should be allowed to kill monsters but not players.

There's a good reason for having both along with ghost and ultima. A high level player in PvP will be swarmed by a bunch of low level players and without the four abilities, that high level player would not have an even chance to come out alive. This is the only way that we can survive the wolf-packs hungry for the additional xp by killing a high level player.
One on one, there's minimal chance for the low level player............except for certain individuals that we won't mention here.

Whilst I understand the reasoning behind not wanting retaliation in PvP, I tend to come more in line with Demon.
Alot of the desire for PvP comes from low levels wanting a quick way to score masses of points.
So, if we made it so that you got a max of 100 xp for killing a higher level player, then yes remove retaliation. And I think 100 is about the right figure - a low level should be able to kill a high level once for every hundred times he dies.
Otherwise, I would be tempted to go the other way, and make retaliation even more effective against lower level players

retaliation is fine as it is, it kills me effective i mean a high level must have the skill to do at least 1 hp damage, if not he is just retarded

Would it be possible to decrease CounterShove just a little? Seeing people fly at least as tall as the Face tower with a single flak shot seems kinda extreme.
