After much discussion and with my insurance company and the various individuals that are involved, I have managed to land a ton of good news financially. I did not know of a little paragraph in my coverage that uses the Medical Out Of Pocket (MOOP) since I have never had to invoke it before.

The actual cost of each Remicade treatment is $3,900.00 and my insurance pays 80% of the treatment. I pay the other 20% plus the $50.00 specialist visit co-pay, which totals $842.00 per treatment out of my pocket.

However, the MOOP takes over after I reach $1,000.00 threshold per calendar year. As such, the total annual cost of the treatments will be $1,000.00 plus the $50.00 co-pay, for an estimated annual cost of roughly $1,300.00. I will start the treatments after the holidays and will keep everyone updated.
