Problems I have noticed in playing, beyond the L screen not being available while dead (which I hope is indeed considered a bug instead of NABWAD)...

1) We are once again seeing the spawn text when we ghost and reappear. I thought we had figured out a trick for that some time ago.

2) I have gotten into a mode where I could not get rid of the "You have points" flashing at the top of the screen after having gained a level under the new version, even though I have gone into the L menu, come back a different night, etc.

3) I think I have seen instances where a LA player will piñata.

4) I have seen an increased problem with weapons not picking up, etc. with this version, which I almost never saw before, especially after I have died or ghosted.

There is something else I cannot quite remember, beyond my thoughts about energy shields... as a LA player, I need to be able to control when my adren is used, and the way it works automatically (my thinking was that it worked like booster), too often I end up in low adren situations because of the way it works... not happy having purchased it. Not at all.

A bug. I believe I fixed it back in November, but it is waiting for Druid to do a build.

Yeh, I have seen this, but haven't managed to work out yet what is causing it.

Shouldn't have changed. Note that some LAs if they are going will deliberately drop all their artifacts to help others, just as some WMs drop all their good weapons when they leave.

There have been some changes, but I don't see how they are related to ghosting or dying.
Engineers cannot pick up link guns, but apart from that it shouldn't have changed.

It suits some people, but not others. It is more useful to people new to the LA class, rather than experts. I was expecting it to be used with the subclasses, where people could sell and re-buy abilities. but that isn't live yet. The subclass stuff has been waiting since about May.

This bugs me. I know there are a few dedicated players of this game, UT2004, who will be playing for years to come, but the longer things get dragged out the less relevant these changes will be.

Agreed. I have been playing SubClasses for 8 months now on my test server. To be honest, I am bored with them and want to move onto the next thing.
But it is his server. And the community is good.

I like the community too, I've made friends here, and there are players who continue because of the community. But this is a six-year-old game, and I think that Druid should allow you some independence with the server so we don't wait months and years for simple bug fixes. He can always roll back your changes anyway if he's unhappy with them.


I'd also play on your server if it went public, and I'm sure others would too.

wow * months????.....ghosts come'n out of the closet on that one!

BUT YOU MUST REMBER!!!!! Dru and Shan have lives beyond UT and have things they need to do! I love play'n here I dont play as much as I'd like but THAT'S because I got a LIFE other than here! ( probly get devoriced if I played thae way I'd like!)

So we just have to wait to see things done and just kick monster butt until then!

I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!

Precisely my point. That is why they should allow Szlat to continue development of druid's rpg independently.

Just to clarify. I have no intention of running my own server, or independently developing DruidsRPG. It's Druid's server and mod.

Ok, I think I have got to the bottom of this one. I have replaced the client side bit of code that spawns the L menu screen. What happens is the original Mysterial RPGInteraction gets added, my code searches for it and deletes it, and insteads add the new code. If the code didn't find an old RPGInteraction, it just added the new code anyway.

The problem was that under certain conditions, not entirely sure of the complete list, when my code looked for the RPGInteraction, it hadn't been created yet, so we had the old RPGInteraction and my new code running at the same time. On startup, both would register the stats points and display the message, but pressing L would only fix my message, not the one generated by the RPGInteraction. Which would then never get fixed.

Managed to duplicate it quite easily, and have fixed it by continuing for a while to keep looking for a RPGInteraction. We will need to check the timing still works correctly on DC, as it is very different to a LAN server.

So, will submit a fix later today.

A bug I have noticed (To do with sentinels I think) is when a person level ups after a match from the winning exp, if they have sentinels in the map they gain an extra 2 levels. Eg. it says Someone is level 42, Someone is level 43, Playername has gained level 44. Sometimes it is Playername has gained level 44, Someone is level 45, someone is level 46. Just letting you know.

Thanks for the heads up.

Is this just a case where each sentinel gets a copy of the winning xp, and the amount of xp is sufficient to cause multiple level-ups (e.g. if it is 400 points for the win and only 500 points per level, then getting 3 sets of 400 points could level 3 times).

Or is it that the win bonus is only say 80 points, and the levels are 500 points, but you are still levelling 3 times?

Presumably it wasn't on DC?

Sorry I wasnt clear on that aspect, it doesnt matter if the exp is high enough to level a second time and third time if it copied winning exp, you could need 10000 exp to level and get only 5000 exp from winning to lvl and you would still level an extra 2 times even though the 5000 exp wouldnt be enough to level you, so basically if you have sents in and you level from ending exp you get 3 levels regardless

And yeah it wasn't DC, i've noticed it on other servers that have engineers, I just thought I would let you know about it seeming as it would effect the DC server as well.
