i have been looking at some codes to summon vehicles and have come across a "dragonfly bomber". its not a mod, but its the model for the pheonix bomber that the target painter summons. its insanly dificult to fly and not very good but i thought the model could maybe be used?
Another idea was the assault ion cannon (with the model greatly reduced in size and its damage and blast radius changed). This would be another cool turret.
Allso i was wondering about the human/skaarj spacefighters. i have seeen them on a number of onsluaght servers and they would be a good way of introducing flying vehicles as you could only use them on very large maps becuase they blwo up if the hit a wall. this way players could abuse the flying vehicles in any way.
The in game code for the dragonfly is: summon onslaughtfull.onsbomber
To summon a space fighter: Start up an instant action game. Try to do it in a very open map, such as OS-Dria or OS-Dawn. Open the console (~) and type Playersonly and hit enter. This freezes everyone in the game but you. This is necessary because the fighters will fly forward even when you aren't in them. Once you enter the codes below, get in (the vehicle will start moving, so be ready) and type Playersonly again to unfreeze everyone.

The Extreme Engineer will get more points to spend, so flying vehicles could be added for them by making the points sufficiently high. This is a configuration change only.
However, we might have problems for Engineers spawning space vehicles if they are destroyed on contact with the ground. That aspect might need to be removed to allow Engineers to enter them.
However, as I said in the SubClasses thread, at the moment the extreme engineer only loses shield healing and shield regen, but already gets more points, more armor vampire and better rapidbuild. So we have to be very selective about what other toys we give it - unless we find another engineer skill to nerf.

mmmm i see your point.i just think that flying vehicles is the one thing engineers dont have.
with the space ship, on the server i saw it, it was like any other vehicle when it spawned (just sitting on the ground). when you got in it i blew up if you hit anything.

Should be ok then. Just needs to be configured in the UT2004RPG.ini file.

i have just tried the skaarj plane out in vehicle invasion and it works really well. the primary fire is possibly a litle overpowerd and the missiles could be configured to work in a similar way to the invasion avril, as they normally m lock onto vehicles.
