Rod with armour vampirism?

i have used a lightning rod in my paladin before but have only just got armour vampirism. Does the rod still trigger vampirism? Or is it counted as not being used inside a vehicle?

The Lightning Rod bypasses DB/DR checks by setting the damage type to be SuperWeapon damage type. This means it skips the DB/DR section of the code, but also skips the section dealing with abilities.
So I believe Rod damage will not trigger any type of vampirism.
