sky diving is a great experience.
When you are above the clouds and cant see the ground it doesn't even feel like you are falling, just a bunch of wind rushing past your face...then when you open your shoot, time seems to just stop so you can enjoy the view.

I am very "Air Force" in my opinions of sky diving... the only reason to jump out of a perfectly good plane is to know how to jump out of a perfectly bad one.

As for New Years, I hope that it is filled with more happiness and prosperity for us all.

Oh... and one thing for me to be happy about... I actually made it to 2009. On the way to my house down in my home town right before Christmas, I found a small patch of black ice. Luckily, I was doing about 25MPH or so in a turn I take at 50 even when it is raining. The van went straight through the curve, with me trying to get it to turn with no luck, and I clipped a mail box, just missing the post it was on. You can read the details at

But the reason I am happy about making it to 2009... I just missed hitting a pair of gas meters, and with a wood burning furnace just 25 feet or so away, it could have gotten really scary, depending on how the gas lines broke, and I might not be here.
