This to me seems somewhat weak so it definitely needs to be updated to match the other classes but it's a start. Anyways, i was thinking of a class that utilizes the translocater (not like the engineers although i think blocks are still a good idea). Anyways, what i mean is to use the translocater for what it's meant for, but expanding on that, basically, teleporting. All i can think of right now, are abilities that
1)give multiple translocaters,
2)indestructible disks, so there is no risk of it being fraged
3)being able to repair other peoples broken trans
4)opening portals (like the game portal if you have seen any game plays of it or played it yourself, this feature might be a tad difficult to make).
5)Creates traps of some sort (this idea clearly needs some work).
6)Shoot trans into a monster and the monster becomes yours (can only work on one monster, and no bosses).
7)Make blocks (exactly like with the engineer class).
Numbers 5 and 6 are the only thing i can think of that can use the trans to actually do something aggressive, the rest of these abilites are rather passive, they are good for running away but not good for fighting.
So ya, i dunno, i sorta just thought of this on the fly. I personally think this needs some way to be even more aggressive but NO SENTS. Those things are just way to good. They kinda ruin the game for any1 who can't summon sents. Anyways, ya, i want to try to use advance on the translocater.

mmm i dont know.. but its weierd since i dont play i came with an idea.... for a new class... what about a class that relies on "melee" attacks, and ll the range weapons deals little or no damage at all... and he can get like a swords ( like ut2k4 chaos) well i dont know.. maybe

dudeguy: I think the issue would be how do you get XP with that class - and you would have to define if it is an offensive or defensive/support class.

Ya, I have thought of that as being a problem as well. Which is why i said something like making traps but that isn't good enough. The main point of this idea is to try to use the translocater for what it was meant for but more based on that principal. Which is basically teleportation. I hope that makes sense to you guys. But without a more solid way to gain experience, I can see that this class sort of falls short good. Oh well, if i do think of something to kill stuff that uses the translocater i will put it here.
PS: I have thought of telefraging as a way to kill monsters but its too risky (because you will most likely be doing this in an area where other monsters can see you, so after you kill one, the rest will kill you) and its to easy (since it will always kill a monster, on boss waves, this would be too good)

Dru was thinking of that some time ago - he just had issues with finding a good weaponset (probably by including another mod), and then how the class would get better weapons and skills ...
Not sure how far he got with it.

Dru was thinking of that some time ago - he just had issues with finding a good weaponset (probably by including another mod), and then how the class would get better weapons and skills ...
Not sure how far he got with it.
The only thing i can think of for this would be (and i'm just ripping off ideas from halo) is the sword and the grav hammer.

well it isnt that hard... in ut2k4 chaos.. there are few weapons like hammers, 2 kind of swords, (temple sword and bastard sword) the little but deadly knifes ( my favorite weapon) the clusmy but deadly axe and such you got the idea..
so lets say. you buy the weapon class skill right? then you could get 1 knife.. right? after few levels lets say 5? you could get the hammer.. right after 5 more levels another knife? or maybe the temple swrod? well it depends on the damage done by the weapons..
after few levels you could get the weapon class skill level 2. and in that level you could use 1 weapon in each hand.. ( lower damage .. so you wont make twice as damage).. later on in level 3 weapon class you could make "criticals2? or maybe instant kills with a chance of 1%? i dont know its a vage idea..
ohh if things goes right i might come back ssoon.. i dont know the date. but i guess it is on my moms time --

oh and the skills might be "air master" "speed", faster attacks ( in close combats you might want to attack faster since a titan crushing you before you can kill it might not be cool) or what about defending skills, like "a little less damage vs rockets" or a sphere of invunerability that holds certain damage and after that you can get hurt.. i dont know might be over power might be under power... ideas? do you guys like it?

I had an idea a while back on a new class involving a system of (similiar to jack of all trades) but I guess didnt get much interest. Maybe you might want to look at it or think of implementing some of the skills mentioned to this idea or viceversa. Well at least I thought it was a good idea...

I've seen a portal gun mod running on deathwarrant's invasion server. I think it worked via an artifact, and there could only be one portal instance server.
Overall, most of the things you mentioned are already done in some fashion or would fit well with the engineer class. For example, I've always thought that engineers should be able to repair or even upgrade translocator discs.
