Been waiting for the trailers for a while. Saw the teaser poster on Paramount's website for 4-6 months now. They have 2 trailers out and it looks darn good.

I wonder if they shouldn't just treat this as a "remake" instead of a "prequel" of sorts and just toss out all old ST canon ... making a "new" ST canon.
The way they screw with time really ticks me off - if time traveling doesn't tie up properly, it just eats at me, and ST is the worst when it comes to that.

FANTASTIC, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED-WOWIE.
I saw the movie tonite............I can forgive some of the plot line--not gonna give it away, but the visuals and action along with the interaction between the actors is something else, along with a few suprises.
It brought tears to my eyes as they flew over the Enterprise for the first time.
I give it a 10/10...............

great movie
..as a fan (not a Trekkie) I especially enjoyed the actors used to portray the original crew GREAT casting especially that old guy in there (not gonna spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet) he brought this movie in to the franchise in style
highly recommended

I've never really watched Star Trek or got into it, but I highly recommend this movie. The story seemed kinda similar to Star Wars heh, but overall I thought it was really enjoyable. Acting is great, the story's interesting because the characters each have unique personalities which I think are brought out really well. So from a non-fan perspective it's a great movie even with knowing little about Star Trek I really liked it.

It wasn't too bad. I wouldn't call it "great", but most of the actors did a good job. The action sequences weren't too shabby, but I think the movie could of been longer. I felt like they rushed through things. I would give it a 7.5/10.
