In this thread we can discuss:
1. Techniques to improve the skill of a player
2. Combining skills of others to improve your own
3. Learning which type of strategy is best for which type of monster
4. And how play like Elite (acting all conceded )
5. Etc...
Well I never thought of putting up a thread like this, until i got a comment from hobo that i should post advice on here so others can know my techniques; unless that was a joke . But anyways here it is, so just start asking questions...

Egads don't let the secrets out !!!
I enjoy being mediocre and prefer if there was only ONE Elite
one question though is how do start scoring so well in early waves ?
I always have to wait to wave six to really get my groove (maybe I need the Larger targets that appear on 6 and after LOL )

Sorry hobo i guess i take things a little too literally...
Depends what class Road:
Eng- I would usually make a offensive sentinel in the most trafficking place on the map and then go about killing relentlessly
Wep- Go off killing from the very start using the shock in the first few waves proves very useful especially the combos
Med- well you know, make those brutes
AM-Im usually just making a good flak in the first few waves, but sometimes when there are a few am's on i just go on killing with the rod and dd from wave 1, knowing that the other am's will stumble upon a good weapon to hand out.

well if your aim isnt that good i have the solution. i does helpme in ICTF and thats why i used to use (is it that right , used to use?) this mutator http://www.angelmapper.com/gamedev/ut2004/infotargetpractice.htm
now once you set up the mutator you will fin that its really easy to hit the target, but to make my work mor complex i made a map... (well if 1 huuge square room and 1 cube that moves west-east another infront of it with the sama patter, and few more cubes that move north south direction.. so i learn how to aim properly.

The Hatter: Why should it? Does your watch tell you what year it is?
Alice: Of course not, but that's because it stays the same year for such a long time together.
The Hatter: …which is just the case with mine.

I think one thing that might be mentioned is the use of berserk. Making sure you have adren saved up for it, and which waves to use it most effectively (i.e. 6, 12, 14, and 16).
Also (mentioning the titan waves) I discovered pretty early on that trying to jump and dodge the rocks was pretty pointless. they'll get you every time. It was such a habit though, that I had a hard time breaking myself of it. The other thing is those rotten titans will pitch rocks right out of their chests or thighs without swinging their arms. There is an optimal distance to stand back and wait for the rock to appear, and then move aside. Of course, it gets more complicated when there are many many titans with a line of sight to you. The best thing is to keep moving. There is a pattern to when they will pound the ground, and then swing their arms for the first throw. After that, there can be a few non-arm-swinging rocks coming at you. Also, it seems like you can delay the first rock throw if you get right up in their chest for a second. They tend to want to pound you at close range instead of heave a rock at you.
Awareness is essential. It really helps to see how close that monster is to being finished off.
Another thing that bears mentioning is the ability to rack up the double, multi, mega, etc. kills. I've never been able to figure out the secret to getting them, but I end up with most of them in waves 6, 10, 14, and 16. Is it a simple formula based on points scored with killing monsters within a certain period of time? In the titan waves, I end up with a lot by simply killing a titan every couple of seconds or so, which seems logical. But, it also seems to me like I end up scoring more when I have pets out and I am killing monsters at the very same time as the pets. I notice it especially in wave 10, and more so on certain maps -- the ones that have areas that monsters tend to congregate. I have three brutes out and can simply circle them while continually healing them as the monsters run into the melee. The brutes are pounding and firing away, while my medic flak is splashing right in the center of the brutes and I can quite often get several holy crap kills in a row on wave 10.

Yeah I have to agree with you cribbage, dodging and jumping on titan waves is quite useless i tend to use my translocator frequently to jump in and out of battles. Mainly since its easier to get to it with it keybinded and all to my mouse, also having a deemer with the globe in the center of a lot of titans would help alot...

I guess the thing I really want to to know is specs and importance of abilities, especially at low levels. What are the most important things to get early on?
P.S.- Do you get the xp for your monsters killing things?

Depends what class, but first off i would buy the core abilities first in this order: max damage bonus to 50 then wep speed to 50 and then damage reduction to 50.
And yes pets do give xp, as well as sentinels and turrets and vehicles.

I'm not a fan of the vehicles. they don't give xp to those linking to so its a waste of room to those not in it. I'd rather use a turret and give others xp too

Yeah im not a fan of vehicles as much either especially the paladin since it causes horrible lag, for the exception of the map Sae in which no lag is caused. And I used to not be much of a fan of turrets since the null queens would easily take one out with their scorpion webs, but I have really appreciated the change szlat did.
Even though the change was applied I'm not too big of a fan of the turrets still unless of course 3 or more people link me, since I have noticed that I score more outside of the turret than inside of it. My Engineer has a max of 200 adrenaline and it gets filled very easily so I usually get a triple or rod so I can use off my excess adren, as for when I'm in a turret I cannot which explains the difference in scores by a 1000 or so...
So an engineer with just a link gun and a few artifacts can outscore an engineer inside a turret with 1 or 2 people linking.

my engi likes to place a turrent and some blocks early and leave my sents to do some killing till later waves. then I let a low level use the turret while I link and use a def sent. I like helping those low levels the way wayno likes to do too... both get xp but the one in the turret gets the bonuses for sprees
